Okay, so because of how elaborate some answers to my specific FILFy questions got I am switching the fanfiction discussion and the ongoing thread tabs over to here.

I will be responding to specific comments on the old thread tonight as well.  Your comments did help me a lot, and I thank you all.  In general my responses overall were like this:

1. Most people didn't seem to want me adding more, which is more than fine by me, I was just wondering since Rias's peerage isn't technically full yet.  So the only secondary character that I will add in the future is Gasper.  I will get that introvert out of his basement darn it!

2. A lot of people wanted the girls to basically milk being told Kuoh was going to host the peace talks for everything it was worth.  It might be a big honor, but being told that rather than being asked to host it seemed a sticking point.  That was pretty much in keeping with my own thoughts, but one point that people brought up that I hadn't consciously considered was the need for them to be mature about it rather than just angry, so thank you all for that.  Reading your responses to this question basically let me write out a full scene in a bare hour, which was great.

3. The fight between Rias and her cousin won't be shown, everyone basically assumes correctly it will be a curbstomp and seemed to be more interested in the aftermath.  This is good, as it will let me lead into another side plot faster than I had thought I could.

4.The peace talks will happen after the trip to Britain and the surrounding Islands.  I want to thank Rumil's Apprentice for passing on a bit of RL info that will help me push that forward.  The peace talks will be pushed back due to everyone needing to meet the girl's price for them to be held in Kuoh.  Although, I am also amused that no one save Tomon seems to have grasped even a hint of the significance behind that trip... HOHOHOHO.

5.  The kids might have adventures, while abroad, but they will be short, and Koneko will get to play  Big Sister with added Protective Mode enabled.  Anything else, and it looks as if people think it would be too contrived.  Which is good.

Beyond the above responses however, this is thread is supposed to act like a discussion thread for FILFy and GDWHOM.    If you have anything you want to ask me, any suggestion you want to make, please talk about it here. I won't guarantee that I will follow up on your suggestion, but I can promise to listen.  Any character you want to see? mention him or her here.  Any plot point you think I've neglected, bring it up here.  Worried about the fact it seems as if I've done the impossible and written a non-harem crossover with DxD?  comment on it here.

So this is a thread for the crazy character interaction ideas that we come up with as we read your DxD stories that generally start with "I wonder if...?"

you've already got harry and co set to go to england/ireland in the near future, so i'm curious about if you're going to make faeries a thing. would they be like the norse faction, where there are a few strong individuals, but overall the whole 'faction' is fading, would they be a subset of a greater faction, like the last remnants of a celtic faction, or something like that? if you do put them in, they might have some interesting interactions with harry being the new demi-god that it somewhat connected tot he celts, maybe even coming and trying to call in old debts that were unpaid, or trying to re-enliven other old deals i also wonder if there are any hidden factions, factions that saw the spread of science and rationalism and European imperialism and secluded themselves, hid themselves, put themselves to sleep to try to wait it out, that might be awakening or might be stumbled upon by accident. something like having Great Eagle, Coyote, Thunderbird, and Bear from the North american natives pantheon or some ancient atlantean pantheon or something. because harry and co would absolutely accidentally do that. maybe the 'veil of death' is just a stasis storage module that can be reversed to vomit up all the criminals the British threw in plus all the whatevers that created it and hid in it. on that note, harry is now a demi-god and has a much greater understanding of the nature of the world and supernatural things, and he has ties to death, he absolutely should got visit the arch, even if he has to go in secret, just to see if it's power might be related to his inherited power or just to take a look at it to better understand it.

I am very satisfied with the choices

Faries: It depends on what you mean by Faries? If you're talking about the Fair Folk - elves, higher intelligence fairies, then not yet. If you mean pixies - like the ones shown in HP canon in book two, then a bit. They will be a lot more sophisticated, with groups like the cornish pixies acting almost like smokescreen fro the more sophisticated groups. But they will still have a declining population for some very good reasons - as in reasons caused by thiem and caused by magicals. Hidden factions: several pantheons hid away. There's a major issue in Egypt that will only be hinted at during the trip to the UK but become the next big issue after the peace talks. (Hint, the goblins in Egypt are a lot better at secrets than the ones in Gringotts). I won't include anything from Native American culture, primarily because of MACUSA being a bunch of Big Brothering/autocratic assholes. The Veil is going to have major significance. I won't say more but I can tell you your idea of it being a stasis module is wrong. But it, the Dementors, and, on a lighter note, Ginny and that confrontation, will be part of the British portion before the group heads to Ireland. Arch? - erm, is this another term for the Veil of Death as mentioned above? Thanks again for giving me some interesting ideas - had forgotten the Veil until you mentioned it - the above was just the way I could see myself using it to make that portion of the fic better. And the Fairies too.

I don't need specific, but do you have a concrete plans or ideas about Gabrielle at this point? Be it one way or another? :-)

when i talked about the faries i was thinking more jim butchers dresden style queens of winter and queen of summer and their attendant ladies and courts, not the cornish pixies and tree fairies of HP cannon. but i like the idea of their being some sort of elves/high elves. and honestly, in DXD you already have arthur the descendant of king arthur, so there could be other non-irish supernatural things going on in england that harry might stumble into accidentally now that he's aware. for example, camelot may still exist on the island of avalon. actually, i just looked it up, and avalon does exist as a special separate dimension like kyoto according to the dxd wiki, and holds two powerful holy swords waiting for worthy wielders. i don't think herry's group needs those swords, but accidentally visiting avalon would be kind of cool. and sort of for the arch, the arch was referring to the stone archway that holds the veil, because it's entirely possible that the veil/cloth and the archway are two separate artifacts, for example, the arch is a gateway, and the veil is a sort of capstone to keep it contained, and removing the veil would give you a cloth of negation, not an invisibility cloak, but a cloak of magical dampening and un-detection, but unleash whatever wailing or emissions are coming from the arch, for example. or it could just be one unit.

i apologize, i read further on the wiki and found that the avalon listed is not actually cannon, it is from someone else's fanfiction and was added to the dxd wiki as fannon. i still find the idea cool, it just doesn't have any actual basis in cannon dxd

the idea of Winter and Summer courts are not a Butcher creation - the Seelie and Unseelie courts are very ancient fables. They are indeed still alive, but... more than that would be telling. As for Avalon... again that would be telling. But there is some evidence in the old epics to say that the Lady of the Lake was a high-ranking Fairy in the Seelie court... Ah, okay. I am going to have to think more about that one. I have not ever considered the arch and the viel as seperate entities.

Tomon

It's weird but I am looking forward to it. Even rooting for her to be honest but on the other hand I won't really mind if she fails in the end...
