Well this isn't Marvel, this is DC. Marvel has Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Fantastic Four, Captain America and the X-Men, DC has Superman, Batman, Watchmen, Wonder Woman, Green Lanterns and so on. James Gunn's breakthrough came at Marvel when he directed the Guardians Of The Galaxy trilogy but when some old tweets got revealed in 2018, he got fired by Disney. Warner Brothers however jumped on the opportunity and hired him to direct The Suicide Squad. Later when DC changed it structure, he became co-chairman of DC Studios and is overseeing it's universe. This movie has many nods to the original Christopher Reeves Superman from 1978 and it incorporates and modernizes a few plot-lines from it. Nicholas Hoult did go bald for this movie and a follow-up is scheduled to start filming in a few months. It's going to be a team-up with Superman and Lex Luthor against a bigger threat (a supervillain called Brainiac). Nicholas Hoult actually auditioned for Superman first and has been very open about him glancing at Lex and thinking that he'd have more fun with that character. He also said that David really is Superman, if you've seen interview with David Corenswet, you'll see that he's like Clark in real life. Hoults perfomance blew me away though. It's been hard to get Lex Luthor right but this is the best Lex yet. He's regarded as the best movie-Lex (people like Lex from Smallville but I can't judge it since I've not seen it) and the pure hatred we see is so refreshing for a villain. He doesn't need to be sympathetic. His monologue is the highlight for me.

I LOVED Nicholas Hoult's Lex! He was the perfect actor for this villain
