I have a very bad feeling about this… idk if he’ll support him in his decision or if he’ll just ignore it and pretend Hake never asked him 😭

Based on what one of the Daises (I think Bluegill?) said earlier, I believe Thresher is probably supportive, but overbearing about it if that makes sense? I think Bluegill said something along the lines of “Dear King Thresher gave us quite the impression of you,” to Hake, and given that we haven’t seen the origin of the transphobic nickname the Daisies gave Hake, I would assume the two are connected. Either way, not super good… poor Hake 😬😭

Ah, I found it! It’s Page 254, in Chapter 11, Bluegill says “Oh, don’t look so surprised to be recognized, Good King Thresher gave us quite the impression of you.” to which Hake seems bothered by. I think Trout at some point says that “Hake the Fake” was a nickname given to him by the Daisies, so I’ve thought for a bit that probably Thresher was extremely overbearing in how he tried to support Hake, and given how cruel he is to the Daisies at this point in time, I wonder if their ire for Thresher gets directed as cruelty towards Hake. Like a “screw you Thresher, we won’t listen to anything you say,” but poor Hake is dragged into it by Thresher’s actions.

i may be overthinking this but with the theory that sturgeon is poisoning thresher’s food with lavender i’m wondering if that bird has been contaminated. sturgeon was the one who gave it to him after all…

I saw just thinking the same thing.

Please forgive the fact that I'm replying to this comment literally two whole years later, but I'm re-reading through the backlog and considering what's happening in the recent pages, I wouldn't be surprised at all if THRESHER was the one who somehow spread around the transphobic nickname for Hake amongst the Daisies (with the end-goal of finally turning Hake against them).
