i love sturgeon's face in the first panel. obviously she knew hake was in a lot of pain, but sturgeon seems to be someone who, in spite of her unwavering compassionate moral code, struggles a LOT with empathy and understanding other people's emotions. it's heartwrenching to see how clearly she is affected by witnessing just how much her (usually happy and easygoing!) little brother has been damaged by what's happened
