Throwback to that time RJ and Zara got invited to a party at some rich guy's mansion but the vibes were off for them so they left early which was fortunate because apparently things got weird after they left. 

Some people got injured, the cops got called, it was in the news. Crazy stuff…

Nah just kidding*...

What really happened is.

Well, we know Zara is a big instant noodles enthusiast so I guess RJ took her to a Japanese restaurant for her birthday**. One of those fancy ones. Those where they still have an in-house photographer and they sell you your photo in a cardboard frame with the logo of the place. 

You may notice that RJ is wearing a tie and the reason is that when I started this I wasn't sure what the context was going to be. I thought they could be assisting at a wedding or something. But I got too lazy to make the background so I looked for a photo in my gallery that I could use and I found this one from a Japanese place I went once that was perfect. Even if I blurred the thing so you can't really see the humans in the background.

**: Well, around her birthday. A week after or before. The same night Zara went with her mom because she was very sick and RJ had to help his uncle move to his new apartment or something. The point here is that it happened during the time these two were trying to keep their thing a secret.

Not that it matters, I could very well change my mind on that later.

Long story short, I'm working on one of those pictures that has the characters upfront doing something and then there's items and portraits and we get some lore and world building on them that I like doing so much apparently.

And this time I decided to try to make the portraits and poster separately instead of on the picture itself as I usually do it, and add them later, and this one I liked enough that I feel like it kind of deserves its own post.

That's why this one looks more sketchy than usual. This was supposed to only be 5% of the final piece. But here we are.

So take this as a bit of a teaser for that.

*: for a moment, I really considered having the WornDown Children play at the vampire party though. The plan was having them play blindfolded a la Eyes Wide Shut but I didn't do it in the end out of a combination of laziness and lack of time.
