Hi everyone, because we watched 'Batman Begins' last week I wanted to give you guys the option to pick between submitting movies to the form for the poll OR watching The Dark Knight, the replies under Batman Begins were pretty 50/50 on if you wanted to see the next movie. The wheel chose DRAMA as this weeks genre--

SO, if majority chooses to submit movies, I will send the form for drama picks out, if The Dark Knight wins I will just film that for next week, and we can spin the wheel again next week.

I voted TDK. Strike while the iron's hot I say. Plenty of time for other movies in the new weekly setup.

Dark Knight is by far the best movie in the trilogy - Best superhero movie I've watched. Massive step up in quality from Batman Begins :)

MarkSpark

Should definitely finish the trilogy while it's fresh

Megatron

Absolutely. I'm not into superhero films at all normally, but I've watched TDK multiple times.

Scott S

I think the score will be higher for the 2nd of the 3.

Would you consider adding classic movies as an option for the genre wheel you spin?

klaire

i could. how would i define the genre? is there some sort of list of movies that count as classics? are there recent “classics” or just old ones? i suppose most subscribers have probably subscribed to someone else and have more of an idea than i do lol

Andy Roberts

Klaire, the AFI (American Film Institute) and the BFI (British Film Institute) have their own “Top 100 films of all time,” list, both of which list many of the same films (though not necessarily in the same order.) That might be a place to start.

Mik

I'm not sure an exact word perfect definition, but Ive always thought of classic as movies generally pre 60s or 60s included too. Look up citizen kane, casablanca, psycho, 12 angry men. The storytelling in alot of these highly regarded classic movies is incredible. I'm not sure how popular these would be though, alot of people unfortunately just disregard old movies for some reason. Also maybe "Animation" could be a good genre to add too? https://www.imdb.com/list/ls021702038/ https://letterboxd.com/hepburnluv/list/classic-movies-for-beginners/ https://www.townandcountrymag.com/leisure/arts-and-culture/g18753561/best-classic-movies/

Ed i guess

It would be better for continuity to finish the Batman trilogy. Avoids having loose ends imo

swilkins08

The second movie is by far the best in the trilogy IMO, I personally think you should watch the second and could either finish the series or leave it there.

Brian Sheely

I would define a classic as a film that stands the test of time, i.e., a film that continues to be viewed by a wide audience generation after generation. The Godfather, Jaws, and The Wizard of Oz are examples. Films that are loved by people who weren’t even born when they were released.
