Matt O'Keefe

No feet in this that I can remember. So no kink, I would think.

klaire

wrong unfortunately lol

Matt O'Keefe

Do you know French well enough to not need French captions? Just asking.

Matt O'Keefe

Now I remember. The heel scene-kind of Cinderella scene.

klaire

but i did mean that they were giving me captions in yellow and then additionally in white for some reason even though i had captions off

Dan Gleaballs

It's key to the plot though! Kind of..

Ixtzul Moreno

Django next if you haven’t watched it

David Edwards

To think as well, this film was the making of Christoph Walz, they needed someone who could speak all the languages necessary who could also portray this level of evil and Walz was absolutely perfect for the role. Before this film he'd done theatre and occasional small roles but nothing to this scale. Truly incredible acting from him, he's absolutely the best part of it. Another fantastic Walz performance is the brillian Django Unchained which you should definitely watch.

Gorlaaaaami

The 'Buongiorno' scene gets me every time, so hilarious 😆

Interested to know why people think this isn’t a war film? Is it because of the tone or historical infidelity?

Matt O'Keefe

Not a fan of gore huh? In terms of gory horror movie. I want the movie to be good. But I am what you could call a gore hound. I look for it in certain movies. I sniff out like a hound dog. I like to see it and I like it pretty gory.

CaveMan

First time i've seen that movie and it was pretty good. However, Klaire sneezing gave me the biggest fright 🤣

FullMetal B

Based on the poll comments, it seems to be exactly what Klaire guessed in the video. Some people say the only movies that qualify as "war" movies are movies that involve guys with guns shooting on the battlefield. So "war-adjacent" films dont count to them.

Brian Sheely

I would say for the same reason The Sound of Music and Forrest Gump aren't war movies. I would define a war movie as a movie that's about war. Though it really doesn't matter. In our society, everything is anything anyone wants it to be.

swilkins08

It's key to the plot because the guy who likes feet wanted it to be key to the plot though...

Cav

I wonder how much overlap there is between people who insist this isn’t a war movie and people who insist Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Wayne

48:30 i don’t think she’s really giving herself away, she’s basically in cover as a French woman who’s heart Is with the allies, not a Jewish person, being open about her dislike works almost as a double bluff.

Matt O'Keefe

Well, I think this a war movie and Die Hard is not a Christmas movie to me. That Christmas is happening is circumstantial. It could be a different big holiday like Thanksgiving or Easter. Nothing essentially would change. Die Hard was not thought to be one when it came out in 1988 and I was 12.

Lalo Salamanca

I watched this last year, I was unfortunately quite bored throughout. Been the case with a few Quentin Tarantino films I’ve seen, I don’t know what it is but I really struggle watching his films. I’m a big WW2 nerd so I know it’s not the premise or theme of the film.

MoShou

Not unfortunately for me Diane Kruger got some pretty feet 😁

MoShou

Klaire why don’t you like Brad Pitt as a person?

Alexander Bond

Christoph Waltz carries this film squarely on his shoulders. It's worth watching just for his performance. There are some great scenes in this movie, but as usual with Tarantino, he veers into self-indulgence, and tonally it's all over the place - mainly due to casting Brad Pitt, he appears to be some sort of cartoon character and at odds with the tone of most of the movie and other actors. I also haven't liked his last two movies much, the western and the LA one. His first three movies are the best.

klaire

he's a horrible person

MoShou

Is it because of the whole cheating thing he did to Jennifer Aniston?

J

His kids removed his last name from theirs. Pretty much all you need to know

Jonathan Blaze

Greatest opening scene in film history imo. The opening 13-15 minutes has everything. Drama, tension, comedy, great dialogue, suspense, action, even a chase scene. 10 out of 10 movie for me, featuring arguably the very best performance/win in the history of the Best Supporting Actor Oscar category for Waltz. And one more thing 2:22:30 - BINGO! 2/28.

MoShou

Fucking hell now I need to find out why Brad Pitt is not a good guy haha

Mike Packham

An "Interesting" retelling of history. The usual dialogue heavy Tarantino movie, with excessive violence and gore. Always with the foot fetish though, such a weird guy Tarantino. Enjoyed the Michael Fassbender scene most, with the way he did "three" being the giveaway, and of course the excellent opening. Less than the sum of its parts probably best describes this movie.
