I was hoping that the type of humor shown in the trailer was just the way the trailer was cut...but this first episode was a bit of a weird mix of them nailing the books tone for so much of it but then the type of humor that pops up just...isn't meshing for me so far lol. I am glad we got a "i could...if I wanted" from egg!

Not really spoiler so about the why there's 3 horses is each serves a different purpose to a knight. One's for riding day to day, one's a warhorse (he can hold all the weight with armour on), I don't know the other's purpose ^_^. The all have names but I won't spoil it as they haven't mentioned it yet.

I think when there are 2 riders and 3 horses, it's to alternate riders so 1 horse can rest. Good start to the story.

That because it's a completely different style of show and book! This is considered more of a "slice of life" style whereas GOT and HOTD would be a drama probably. Meant to be more wholesome and focused around one person and one event. It is unique to all GRRMs other works! It's much much shorter than even one GOT book.

... There can be purpose behind shocking content, and then there is shocking gross content for no reason at all. I could have done without him having the runs while I was eating lunch. That really sort of aggravates me to be honest.

i think a misconception about this show is that it's going to be similar to GOT or HOTD, it's a lighthearted comedic take on a slice of life style media, some parts of it may not be for everyone. this genre usually shows every part of life even the "gross" or "boring"!

I kind of agree. It ultimately didnt bother me that much because of how good they did almost everything else. But the humor in that and a few other scenes from this episode are just 100% not similar in tone or humor to any part of the three novellas that are out. Which is all well and good if thats the change they wanted to make, and im excited to see if that shifts at all as the story gets a little more stakes/serious or if they can do a jojo rabbit type thing of balancing the two even as the stakes come in. I think a lot of people are just confusing the books being "light hearted" with them being "silly comedy".

There's definitely a different tone to this show than both Game of Thrones and HoTD, not necessarily a bad one. Way more humour, flashbacks, a more hopeful music score from Dan Romer than Ramin Dijawadi

Not sure if you'll see this but there are 3 horses, 2 for the knight, Ser Alan, one for travelling and one for war and the other other horse is for the squire, Duncan, to use as a pack horse for all the gear
