In today's Kiki Lounge we battle a grave and severe technical difficulty (off-air) that hopefully did not impact this recording too much! We spent hours sorting it, so this is the best we could do. We're chatting about Taylor's recent appearances (dissecting her outfits but of course) and musing some unvarnished thoughts on the Brittany Mahomes of it all. Enjoy! As a European who lived in LA for a long time, I honestly think that people overestimate Taylor’s potential impact on politics. I can see her being kind of unsure if her endorsing Kamala would actually help the campaign. I think she should do it, and not make a big deal out of it, but yeah, I’m just not sure she’s that knowledgeable

I totally agree that of course Taylor is a democrat-y person (NYC + Hollywood + UK friends) and of course most of the people in her football/country music/Central Pennsylvania + Nashville + KC orbit are Republicans + centrists, and I think that during the Trump era/2020, the brands needed to be activist, thus Miss Americana/Biden endorsement. I appreciate you two addressing the Brittany of it all. I agree that ultimately she has to deal with the consequences of associating with a Trump supporter. The way you described how it puts Taylor in a sticky situation is accurate, except, do you think Taylor was that "oh no" about it? I never in my life thought of Taylor as fake, but having your political stunt 4 years ago and then dropping it is like... fake? Inauthentic? If you didn't think she did the political thing as a last ditch hail marry at relevancy then this is quite the case for it now. I just don't think Taylor is very political at all. Which, fine, I guess, but don't act like you are. I wonder if she'll say anything leading up to the election. I'm always here to clap and cheer for Taylor but when she's hugging a trump supporter, by clapping takes a holt.
