Initially, I thought that this may just be a distraction from the Speak Now rumors because there were rumors that it was going to be announced in Nashville but then most people (including me lol) got distracted by the matt stuff. So, part of me thought this could just be PR, matt gets a people cover story Taylor gets a distraction. (One of the main reasons people were on livestreams yesterday was the matt thing) However, now that I'm thinking about it I think this is just partially true. Taylor Swift doesn't need any PR. Matt isn't even good PR. I think this rumor started and she doesn't care enough to correct it for some reason. Matt probably loves the attention. Maybe they're doing a collaboration in the future or they really are dating. I think Joe hurt her and did something stupid. The comment she made tonight: “this is how you propose, it’s really not that hard!” and how she's been talking about how much she likes to explain to men how to apologize. Which btw Betty is a horrible example of an apology James calls her friends stupid and crashes her party. The fact that she considers that an apology concerns me. Maybe she doesn't care about these rumors enough to have tree issue any statement. Maybe to get back at Joe? This being a rebound kind of makes sense considering her relationship with Joe. Or to hint at a future collaboration with Matt? This gives Matt publicly and he's too messy to reject that.

Regarding, the daily mail I don't consider then to be a reliable news source they lie all the time. So, while it's certainly interesting that he was seen with her bodyguard they could still just be friends.

I’m starting to think this is not a new relationship. I think things were breaking down with Joe already before the time in January when she shared the stage with the 1975 and played two of their songs and anti-hero. She met matty’s mother that night apparently, and he was probably flirting with her big time. They started talking more and then started thinking this guy was more exciting than Joe. He’s going places, he has a career, he has his own money, he has ambition and drive, all the things Joe was lacking because he just isn’t interested in accumulating wealth or having fame. So the attraction just wasn’t there with Joe anymore. She no longer needed that rock in her life and Matty was just more appealing to her. If she truly is in love with him, she is going to be devastated once again when she gets her heart broken. Because he will do just that. So I think everything has been developing since January, but the public thinks this is really new since the announcement of her breaking it off with Joe is so recent.

I have so many thoughts that I'm not even gonna say because at this point they feel like fanfiction...but I just have a strong suspicion that IF this relationship is real, it's been going on longer than we think, and we're eventually going to get some very interesting intel through her music about the dissolution of the relationship with Joe and the overlap with Matty. The next run of shows is philly (another “hometown” show) Foxborough (her favorite stadium) and then New Jersey aka the New York show. If he’s there for those performances then that is truly her full on boyfriend.

This is genuinely perplexing. He’s said some horribly problematic and racist things and yet maintains like a “lefty” group of friends and fanbase. To compare, Morgan Wallen is problematic in similar ways but to me that makes more sense because his fan base is very trumpy. Is Matty’s problematic behavior part of a bit that I’m not understanding? I don’t get how someone like Phoebe Bridgers who has been pretty vocal about her politics is still friends with him. Similarly the core demographic of the 1975 fanbase seems to be young liberal people? Yet you think that with all the weird shit he says he’d be cancelled by now. Something isn’t adding up for me but nobody has really given me a straight answer on this. ok some not that interesting insight as a 75 stan: even their biggest fans have gone thru the entire spectrum of human emotion with matty… like he is pretentious and cringe and problematic BUT he is very self aware of that and most of it is an act. the at their very best tour was split into two acts, the first half being him cosplaying as a jackass rockstar/what ppl think of him, and the second half was him being completely normal. even the eating raw meat was like ew youre weird but also he only did it a couple of times on the tour, and he always did it while sitting in front of tvs that were playing clips from toxic alpha males and alt right idiots. he tries to be profound and make commentary on things and a lot of the time it just makes him look fkn stupid & doesnt land. but my god the music speaks for itself like he ate that one little thing i cant lie! im just gonna let taylor rock 🫡 the honeymoon phase makes everyone stupid hehe

I dunno guys. I’m a new swiftie (don’t come at me Zack!) and I have very mixed feelings about this Matty thing. I think our HBIC is going through some mental breakdown, I see him as wild yet artistic/creative and I think she is attracted to those two qualities in him. I also think something seriously went down with Joe because she was making LH mv with Joe all over it, making IG posts explaining LH and about Joe, they were making out on vacation over the summer, together al the time over the winter, together for grammy’s. Then she starts Eras, something happens. She flies to London during her 5 day break. Comes back in 5 days, changes the set list, and cries during Champagne Problems. Breakup is announced following weekend. THEN all of the sudden she is in a public romance with a wild man, famous man, who obviously does not care about showing his affection and being with her, she is out there publicly acknowledging it, mouthing she loves him to the world…. I’m sorry, I’ve had one so I know the signs, she is having a mental breakdown. But it seems like a lot of her song choices, her sass, onstage seem to be directed at Joe and now this very public “in your face” relationship. I have to think she is still in love with Joe but wants to have a good time for awhile during this breakdown. Something went down and she ain’t happy about it and she is entering a getaway car 2.0 and having a mental breakdown. Don’t come at me, I am simply an observer of human behavior and this is what my eyes are telling me.
