Grooving to Lover and loving it, dancing to Shake It Off, hanging with her friends, the most compelling and earnest thing he has done is put on a FUCKING friendship bracelet. 

I still think this man is stupid and a really bad idea. But I’m feeling less vitriolic towards him dating Taylor. But I can’t really be trusted because I also am attracted to men and as many of us here know that’s a mental illness.

To be clear, I’m not excusing any of the things that he has said and done, particularly about minorities, because they are inexcusable, particularly by myself as a white person. I’m also still not thrilled that it’s looking more than likely the rumours are true, but Taylor’s an adult who can unfortunately make her own decisions, and if they really are together it’s at least nice to see him as a partner be so publicly supportive of her. I just think that she deserves someone who worships her the way she deserves and it softens me a bit to see a glimpse that could be the case. The mouthing declarations of love might be cringe but Taylor is fundamentally a cringe person, and I’m happy she can let that side of her rock now rather than maybe having to be more private than she might have liked before.

GUYS I'M FREAKING OUT I just saw a clip of matty from a 1975 show last month where he's talking about writing a song to win someone over and how it 'worked for him' before playing ABOUT YOU!!! that literally confirms that it's about taylor and she clearly knows because she has it on her preshow playlist. it was also released last october so that means he initiated this more than six months ago while she was still with joe. that definitely makes me think that this is not some random rebound and this relationship has been in the works for a while. also this is making me seriously consider whether cardigan is actually about matty or at least heavily inspired by him. I initially thought she was just joking when she said that it was about him but about you literally references the train lyric in cardigan (stepping on the last train / I'll miss you on a train). THIS IS LITERALLY MAKING ME QUESTION EVERYTHING. like was matty the one that got away this entire time? also apparently the 1975 had question...? on their preshow playlist which is INTERESTING 👀 (specifically thinking about the lyrics 'half-moon eyes' and 'but you were on something' given that he was an addict. also 'sad boy' seems like such an accurate description of him lol)

Wait, I have a deranged theory that might be complete bull but I have to speak my thoughts- what if maroon is ab him too? We never agreed upon as swifties who that song is about, some say Jake, Tom and some even say Joe, but what if it’s about him and Taylor when they were hooking up in 2014, that small period of time? When they resalized that what they had wasn’t as great as it seemed. Just food for thought… And if it’s true( which I don’t think is likely) then everything’s just bonkers

if I had to armchair psychoanalyze I think she’s probably reevaluating her idea of a relationship and what she wants in this season of her life. I don’t think she seriously sees herself settling down with him but she’s probably okay with that (aka Wildest Dreams.) We also know there’s something about a missed connection from the past that attracts her, so I think she’s just rolling the dice and seeing what happens.

a month ago when all the breakup news came out i literally commented on here that i wanted her to be with someone who is silly/youthful/shameless, someone who wasnt afraid to be seen with Taylor/to be seen loving Taylor, like tom wearing an I heart TS tshirt kind of carelessness.........and i hate to admit that this energy matty is giving is very much in line with that lmaooooo. Still didnt expect or want someone this far out but at least he's clearly a fan of her and believes in her career/music, clearly seems to accept and respect that aspect of her life. After years of being with someone who was trying to be hyper private within her inevitably public life and never wanted to be associated with her, its refreshing.
