TayLore #1 : Robert Pattinson as a semi-inspiration for Better Than Revenge (Patreon)

Something I've been thinking about a lot is that since both Zack and I have been around in the fandom for literally forever, we have a lot of random trivia and...LORE...about Taylor just sitting around in our heads. Often, it's hard to find some of the really interesting lore because it's things that only the loser old-timer fans have kept in their heads. I thought I'd make it a Patreon series of a sort to share some of the LORE that we both have stored in our heads that a lot of newer fans might have missed, or that even older fans might have missed because they had a life and I, well, did not!!! My life was being a Taylor Swift historian. 

My first piece of Lore for you all : Robert Pattinson literally inspired one of the lines in the chorus in Better Than Revenge. 

Robert Pattinson and Camilla Belle had some sort of bizarro and random friendship in 2009, and a lot of the blogs and gossip mags for some reason peddled this as Rob being "lassoed into" the love triangle between Taylor, Joe Jonas, and Camilla, making it indeed a LOVE SQUARE....meanwhile Rob kept being like "lmfao, we are just friends, we are just friends..." while Camilla would instead play coy and just say "I'm not commenting." Probably because she knew being linked to these men is how she could make her career better, no shade to the girlie. There are lots of pictures of them out and about at cafes and on red carpets together from around this time, and I do believe they were friends, and this was during a time when he and Kristen were not dating yet, but it's hilarious in hindsight that Robert completely unwittingly got involved in literal swiftie fucking drama just because he and Camilla hung out a few times. 

Here's the part where he becomes perhaps at least part of the reason Better Than Revenge exists as it does today - surely, Taylor was fuming fucking angry about her breakup with Joe Jonas and was CERTAINLY lurking on Camilla on the internet. Like. I know she kept herself up at night googling that girlie and sitting there rhyming her name with shit and plotting her ultimate demise. She CERTAINLY knew that she was palling around with Rob, and likely, because she was so fucking mad at Joe and at Camilla, she believed hook line and sinker the stories that Camilla was sleeping with Robert. Like, 100% bought that shit. As if that's not enough evidence....

In a GQ cover story he did, Rob said these fateful words.... "Camilla Belle is the nicest, a saint. And it's funny that she's being portrayed as this home-wrecker. She's literally the most unlikely to be a home-wrecker. It's just ridiculous." 

He literally said : she is a saint. That is an oddly specific thing to say. 

And Taylor literally said : she's not a saint and she's not what you think, she's an actress, but she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress.

Robert Pattinson was quite apparently catching strays from Taylor on Better Than Revenge and what's really fucking funny about it is that I don't think he ever had a fucking clue. If you asked him about this today he'd be like, who? LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!
