As promised...here is the first part of my unedited Speak Now reaction. I edit for clarity & also for copyright, so there's usually quite a bit left on the cutting room floor. Patreon's video player is a bit temperamental so I've had to split these into two videos. There are a few cuts here and there because my camera KEPT dying. I need a new one smh. This part has all of the vault tracks and 1 – 5 of the standard edition. Enjoy!

Your ability to spot similarities (whether that be within the production or subject) between a new Taylor song and her older ones is so impressive. It’s like instant recall! I know her albums inside out, but it still takes me a moment to connect the dots in my head!

Love this unabridged video. Most hilarious commentary ever on 1944 John Mayer (see Kourtney’s comment above). I don’t like “Dorothea,” but I think I like “Timeless” because I’m about to get engaged and even though the metaphors are cliche, it just makes me emotional. The hair turning gray part. Very reminiscent of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” Also, did anyone else hear “Viva La Vida” during “Castles Crumbling?”

timeless is in my top 5 worst taylor swift songs for SURE - i heard 1944 and my jewish friend was in the room and she screamed so loud it was hilarious, we had to skip it so this was my first time hearing it all the way through 😂😂😂 taylor why 😂😂😂

I definitely think Castles Crumbling is a marriage of Taylor's post-2010 Grammys drama with Hayley's 2010 Paramore drama (when the band was fighting over a number of issues that led to the Farro brothers leaving and Hayley being blamed for it all and accused of surreptitiously elevating herself above the rest of the band). I'm sure they both commiserated over their anxiety and fears about having maybe risen too high, too fast and then quickly seeming to fall off that pedestal, not knowing if they would be able to recover. The song is shockingly prescient of what Taylor then went through in 2016. Just goes to show how it's a roller coaster in the business.

I have mixed feelings on timeless. I historically hate when Taylor cosplays as a historical cliche but there’s SOMETHING in that goddamn song that I can’t deny I love. I cringe listening to it but I’m also fucking living so idk. I hate myself too 😂

I am SHONKED. Zack, this is the most I've ever disagreed with you on anything Taylor Swift related it's making me chuckle. I think that Electric Touch is one of the best things I've ever heard (however, I am a reformed emo kid, so hearing fob and miss girl together is a beautiful dream come true for me). The way she pronounces words in this TV was like somebody shattering the urn of Speak Now's ashes sitting on my mantle. The "fight" in the bridge of Mine TV was so different I almost fell over. All of Sparks Fly felt half energized and the way she did "You're a bad idea" was so much less interesting in the TV (the little squeak in "ideeeeUH" was my favorite thing to sing along to ever). Her vowels in Dear John are SO long which is arguably better for clear sound when singing but it also makes it sound less like her cheeks are tensed up in a crying face, which withdraws some of the emotion imo. Maybe I just have to sit with them more but I was really sad about my favorite songs being desecrated on the TV. I'm genuinely so intrigued that you, a fellow crazy delulu critic, found it so faithful! Maybe you'll change my mind on a relisten

totally agree about the 2 writing periods for Speak Now-- Foolish One to me seems like the "burned by Joe Jonas" era, and the later era is burned by John Mayer/Kanye West, much darker!
