Since we know midnights was written partly in late 2021 I think it’s possible taylor took out her hurt and frustration of things starting falling apart with joe around that time, and channeled it into her red tv promo, hence why she went so big for it. Not saying joe did anything like what Jake did, but she took it as inspiration. Like using her previous biggest heartbreak to date to process some feelings of her current biggest heartbreak, even if it wasn’t completely over yet
