Hey y'all! 

We're gearing up for another episode of Phone a Snake. We want to try something new with the format to keep it spicy and interesting for us and for you. 

Since we record Taylor Talk next week, we want to save all the juicy Taylor related and adjacent content for that. So, that leaves Phone a Snake completely open to anything non Taylor related. 

We will pick a theme each month (decided by you) and take questions based on the theme. So the real question is, before we send out the link to leave your voicemails: WHAT SHOULD WE TALK ABOUT?

someone mentioned how annoying tree paine is here (and i agree) and it kinda reminded me of how PR teams/managers often are completely out of touch with how young people and the internet perceive things. one thing that comes to mind is apologies. most people on the internet want celebrities to take accountability when they're exposed for doing something wrong, but PR teams will often go for trying to garner sympathy by any means necessary. and honestly i think the amount of terrible youtuber apologies has made us all so burnt out by shit that is so clearly manipulative, and we just want someone to admit they fucked up. i don't know if that's anything, it might not be, but the way that PR teams are consistently made up of people who are far older than most celebrities' target audiences is a huge flaw in my opinion. get like a late twenties person on there at least, i mean come on. maybe talk about how PR works, or doesn't work? EDIT: i just realized this would be a terrible phone a snake theme lol sorry, i just have opinions on this. how about this: you can talk about celebrity fuck ups, and how they respond to them. particularly, who is able to save face and who is not.

I know you said something other than Tay, but I was fascinated/horrified by the mob that gathered at Jack's wedding rehearsal. I am old, so I remember when people mobbed Princess Di or Michael Jackson, but the spread of information is so much faster today so that while only a few people saw her go into the Black Whale, when she left the place there were hundreds (thousands?). It is a little concerning and wondering how much worse this might get and what should be done to give famous people some space in these days of being able to track them so fast. I'm worried something tragic could occur.

Not that you haven’t already covered this in some ways. Honestly my life is refreshingly boring so if you can give me some drama I’m here for it!

Maybe talk about how strange it is that our top-charting pop stars are OLD in comparison to previous years (Billie and Olivia are exceptions). Taylor, Drake, Beyoncé, Lizzo, Sza, Ariana, Miley, and Cardi B are all over 30 (Harry Styles is 29 and Megan Thee Stallion is 28). Obviously, none of them are “old”, but by mainstream music standards, for that age group to dominate so hard amongst the youth market, is startling. Do teens not like teens anymore? Do teens artists at large not have the momentum that they used to? What gives? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I feel like certain celebrities (taylor, harry styles, etc) are prone to being accused of having beards/having fake relationships and would love to hear you dig into the rationale behind that. I don’t personally think PR/fake celebrity relationships are that common but i find it so interesting
