This merch roast was iconic… I’d truly pay good money to hear Zach go over/ roast LDR.Village because there is also a clear decline in quality with Queen Mother’s merch as well (being printed on demand, not shipping out for 6+ months etc etc)

hey guys! just finished listening to the segment on the brazil shows and I wanted to say that as a brazilian fan who was there on rio night one, I appreciate the respect and nuance with which you guys approached the subject. I guess maybe in behalf of the brazilian fandom I would just like to clarify that the harsh reactions towards taylor in the aftermath of the tragedy only began when ana's family was interviewed by a very reputable brazilian news source that weekend and revealed that they hadn't had help from either the promoter or taylor's team to cover the costs of getting ana's body to them, which the fans then took upon themselves to do. up until that point brazilian fans were just as ready as anybody else to assume that taylor had been helping the family on the background, and knowing that had not yet been the case was disappointing and that disappointment manifested as anger to many people, which is mainly the reaction people outside from our country saw. i guess my point is that, at least in the brazilian fandom, most of the reaction really stemed from a place of empathy towards ana's family rather than the narcissistic need for her to do exactly what we wanted her to do. so much so that once reports started coming out that taylor had finally reached out to the family, people felt ready to move on and tried to enjoy the rest of the shows. which they did! i had many mutuals on many of the shows and everybody had the time of their lifes. even i was able to have a fantastic show in spite of all the aggravating circumstances of night one. so happy i was able to see her so well from so close. thank you guys again for the very healthy conversation :)

“This is my culture, not a costume” perfectly summarizes how I feel with a lot of people jumping on the band wagon and treating her like content/clot instead of the artistic human she is. It’s really disgusting the way people are over-consuming her art and are increasingly less satisfied than ever with insane expectations.

Thank you for sharing your input. I feel the same way.

My two cents: It was sad that when a fan died in the US after an Eras show (he was hit by a drunk driver right afterward), FANS made a Go Fund Me for his funeral. Aka, normal people with normal jobs. Taylor did not publicly help in any way. The family came out and thanked the FANS… So to me it was upsetting that Taylor again waited so long to offer help to the Brazilian family. She’s a BILLIONAIRE. Normally I don’t think her charitable contributions need to be made public. But in these cases, it SHOULD be public knowledge so that hardworking, normal people don’t give their hard-earned money away when a BILLIONAIRE is partly involved. I am at least glad this family was helped (the same cannot be said for the American case).
