As you circle and analyze the TS brand, you touch on this psychology of being a fan. Theres a lot of personal time and money being invested in this brand as fans and your commentary has helped me become more aware and adjust some of my behavior and impulses. And I think this is why also the ✨KIKI✨ is also needed so much. We need to be able to not take this all so seriously. Anyways, brava 💛

Zack, I am curious to know what exactly you mean when you say she can cut Midnights from the set list? I think you talked about it a bit on the TTPD pod episode as well, but I just wanted to clarify if you meant that she'd cut it down because it's one of the larger sets, or cut it? Great lecture! You should honestly do more talks because they really seem to suit you well and the nature of what you do!

Zack this was amazing. Your presentation was the perfect blend of objective information with your personality mixed in, which is not an easy thing to do or skill to acquire!!! I've really enjoyed your content this year and you pointing out the important thing to remember theres a difference when we as fans are discussing the taylor we know now who is centerfold in jumpstarting bigger societal / cultural conversations, as opposed to the taylor swift whose cd i put in my stereo when i was 12 years old and would cry in my room listening to last kiss. Why do we want Zack to keep posting his critical journalism about Swift and her work? Because some of us surprise ourselves by interacting with Swift's poetry and music on emotional and intellectual levels. (I can't claim that I have a HIGH intellectual level, but at least I try to understand, question, and learn from literature.) Zach hustled and put in the work (riff) to make analysis that expands understanding, enjoyment, and value of Swift's art for me. As a man standing between the sycophantic psycho-fans and haters who sneer at any sincere interest in Swift's art and phenomena, its nice to have real thinking and conversation about why Swift's art matters. Zach is smart. We like it.

Underdog and persecution is in part a matter of perspective. That is one of the interesting aspects of Swift's art. In unprecedented ways Taylor Swift is The Man in her realm. She also seems to sincerely feel the pain of heartbreak and persecution and express it in ways that resonate with mere mortals. That aspect of her art and our humanity is very interesting.

"It was rude." (Announcing the release of an album at the Grammys) I'm interested in that concept - I presume that would be for two reasons (?) (1) it is a little bit too self-promotional for an important awards show, and (2) she has the stature to suck all the air out of the room, to completely overshadow the event, its purpose, and other honorees?
