i've marked this NSFW purely for the butt doodle, haha. just in case.

no porn here, just a little update for anyone that's interested.

i haven't written about my life, mental health, and plans for a while. things are improving. i'm doing okay. i'm very grateful to the people who reached out to check up on me. <3 i am drawing again, but i'm SO much slower at doing it and posting things online than i used to be. i'm sure i'll find a rhythm in time. i'm fine physically. still often very sad, still processing. still in therapy and it's going well.

i was describing the outfit i ended up in today to my friend and decided to draw it. the filename is "most heinous outfit.psd". that's a shimmery silver scarf, old marilyn manson shirt, and a victorian style slouchy maxi skirt. trust me, i don't know how it happened, but i'm very comfy.

merch shop, website, videos

my plans at the minute, inspired by the poll i put out, are to continue (and ramp up) posting my usual smutty stuff here, i want to continue Infernal Flowers, make a website to properly house everything (this would be easy if it weren't for every standard website maker having rules against explicit content), make some merch (finally!), and make it available online! i'm thinking stickers, prints, and really i'd love to make a physical copy of Infernal Flowers with a cover and maybe some special exclusive smut pages. we'll seeee! any specific requests? at some point i really want to make printed shirts and other more substantial items too.

now that i have a better PC, i'd like to utilize it to make videos. process vids and also tutorial videos. maybe other stuff. no idea! i'm taking my ipad kid status to the next level by starting a youtube. watch this space.

i'm going to a local comic collective meeting this week. hopefully i'll meet some other cool artists, get some ideas and maybe advice on printing, maybe even a nice sense of the community locally.

the next few pages of Infernal Flowers are a-go.

here's something i experimented with, but never posted. i bought a graphic novel/novel hybrid, and it started me wondering how it would look if i incorporated pages of written text into Infernal Flowers, or other comics of mine. ultimately i decided against it after doing some research and seeing that it's considered really lazy in comic culture. that irks me, because i like writing and consider a hybrid a cool idea, but for now i'll avoid it. you can see the page i drafted to try out the formatting.

erotic fairytales

i've also started a little comic project on the side with my partner Miguel, who has written comics in the past. it's going to be cute, erotic, gothy re-tellings of folk stories and fairytales, starting with Red Riding Hood! simple and sweet. he'll be writing it, i'll be drawing. i'll post more about it when more is finished, but i'm tentatively excited. it'll be a webcomic, with a view to having it be printed issues, and then ultimately a collection of the issues in graphic novel format. taking it slow though for now. i really want to draw some wolf-man monsterfucker porn.

i don't know if anyone was waiting around for more Dirge for a Normal Life, but that's on hold for now. i realized a comic inspired by real people in my life, centering on romance, breakups, emotions--all of it was too close to home at the minute and i just felt raw when i tried to work on it. i attempted to rework it but it's just... yeah i have plenty of other things to draw.

lastly, i just thought i'd say; while organizing my thoughts for this post i checked my to-do list, and near the top in the high priority section is just "Glitter". that's it. that's the entire bullet point. i don't remember writing that, and i don't know what i meant by it, but it's definitely an insight into how my mind works.

here's a pic of me hard at work at my desk. improving performance.

Duski that writing is so good! Regardless if you incorporate/hybrid your comics, please for the love of god keep writing 🖤

Well from just the draft im really invested in your more wordy, novel-esque writing style and I hope you do keep writing. Hyrbid or not, I’d love to read your writing. Also, I’d really like to buy your merch if you do go through with that, though hopefully theres options that aren’t so openly horny so I didn’t have to hide it at home. Stickers/pins would be cool. Excited for your projects🔲

Pshaaaw, thank you so much. I do like writing but it takes a lot of energy for me and I'm extremely slow, hah. I'll keep writing though!🖤

That's awesome tbh, I'm really happy you like the style. ☺️ I'm definitely going through with it--and that's a really good point thank you. I'll be sure to make stuff that's not explicit too so it can be passably worn around! 🤍

Pfft, minor people in every art field have all these rules about what you should and shouldn't do, somehow never being dissuaded by the fact that many of the major players in the same field ignore their rules. Like Alan Moore; in the League of Extraordinary Gentleman series he put pages of written text in all the time ("The Black Dossier" is like half text). It requires more work from the reader, but then there are writers who write books with no pictures at all. You just have to be willing to do what you like and not worry about anyone else (something Alan Moore seems to be great at, not to mention many of the other top people in every field). Seems like things are going well. Congrats!

Maaan, I was mad curious what the overall stance was about such things. My first ever big project was an attempt at a novel-graphic novel (wasn't sure what to call it, I just had called it a "illustated novel" with an empahsis on the illustrated part. I love writing and drawing; wanted a novel, but wanted as much art to go alongside it- it was before I found comfort in either my writing or my art, so it wound up being awful, haha, but it was a great learning experience. I then went and tried comics- which is wayyyy too difficult for me at the time, but am thankful I gave it a go. It helped me find my artistic groove n' where I really enjoy it, but I definitely didn't have the brainpower for comic crafting at the time. I then went harder on a primary novel as a base with some art in between, and am thankful I did that, too, as it helped my writing evolve- but now I'm circled back because the idea of haing a hybrid of the two is where I'm really comfortable. I can see how some folks may think of it as 'lazy' which I reckon is their right but I disagree. If it's something you're passionate about, you shouldn't be pressured out of it. You're a great writer, I'd love to see more in the future if it's something you decide you want to continue to share. I personally think it allows us to see a sort of different angle of IF; I reckon it allows us to immerse ourselves with some brain imagery instead of witnessing it all through the art (which is still absolutely beautiful and kickass, though!) which may have something to it. Even the presentation of the page is very exciting, I dunno. It's super pretty. I'm not sure how or why, but the page also makes IF feel even more expansive for some reason. Regardless, we're looking forward to seeing how your present your projects to us! Sounds like you've got some fuckin' killer stuff in the works! :D Keep kicking ass, fam! We got your back. Cheers

yeeeeah, very very true. i know, i'd *like* to break the mould. i suppose i feel like a newb still, and that makes me less inclined to break established norms. i really appreciate that though! i love that mixture format that Alan Moore does. it's actually so cool. feels really organic and keeps it fresh every page. maybe i'll think on it!

aw i'm very pleased and honored you were keeping tabs and were curious. oh that sounds like a fun experiment at least! and yes, comic crafting is seriously the biggest challenge i've ever faced when it comes to art. it takes so much energy and effort. it's like being a director, writer, artist, actor, graphic designer, editor--all in one. BUT at the same time also weirdly simple... true true. i'm glad i put it in the post now because hearing opinions like yours is really fascinating. i do agree that a hybrid is a cool idea. i mean there's illustrated books, so why not slightly novel-ized comics...? it's still one of those fields unfortunately where there's a lot of snotty opinionated status-quo from the mainstream (superhero comics). i support you doing it. i'll think on it and consider it myself! and thank you so much!! that's interesting. i hadn't thought of it like that! <333 you too!!
