Hello friends!

My dad’s birthday is this week, so I picked up a bunch of dinosaur decorations and am planning to throw him a small dinosaur-themed party! I was originally trying to decide between dinosaurs and Lord of the Rings, but the dino party pack had way more decorations, so that ultimately made the decision for me. I usually make his cake every year. I still need to grab the ingredients, but it’s a pretty simple one. He loves an icebox cake! If you’ve never tried it, it’s really delicious and surprisingly easy to make.

I recently watched the new season of Bridgerton, and it ended up sending me down quite the historical rabbit hole about the Man in the Iron Mask. One of the Season 4 storylines involves a wrongful imprisonment, which reminded me of the Alexandre Dumas story The Man in the Iron Mask. Naturally, that meant I had to watch the movie. Little did I know, it’s actually the conclusion to the Three Musketeers storyline! So this week has unintentionally turned into an Alexandre Dumas week. Next up, I’ll be watching The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), which is also based on one of his novels. I figured it would be fun to keep the Dumas deep dive going!

I’ll also be watching a couple more episodes of Wonder Man this week. I’m really enjoying the dynamic between Trevor and Simon. If Morris could somehow make an appearance, the show would truly be perfect.

In movie news, Zootopia 2 just landed on Disney+!!! Lamby and I were both very invested in the first one, so we’re going in with high hopes that this sequel will be even baaa-etter than the original.

Also, it was just announced that Firefly is being rebooted as an animated series! I can’t believe that after two decades the show is finally getting a reboot. I’m fairly new to the Firefly universe myself, so I can only imagine how excited longtime fans must be.

And finally, some of the films we watched recently were recognized at the Oscars! Sinners, F1, and KPop Demon Hunters all took home awards, which was so exciting to see. 🎉
