In our restless dreams, we see that town.

Silent Hill.

We promised to take you there someday...

And now is that time! A lot of people thought it might be this, and seeing as spooky season is upon us, it felt like it was time for us to all experience this amazing game.

Gav and Rory have never played it, and Krupa only just played it to prepare for the show. It's an incredible game and we had an absolute blast playing it.

So get comfy, draw the curtains, and turn out the lights, as we visit Silent Hill.

Enjoy the brand-new series of SPOOKIES!

Lovely little surprise drop on a Saturday. Love the title credits, very good work! X

Excuse me those intro effects with the boys’ names and the spookies title in the game were top notch. Also three toilets first thing and a bench in the very fist area!? This was supposed to happen

Benjamin Cook

Drives me wild to see you not going in buildings or smashing windows for extra items and context. Outside of that, cheers, this is one of my favorite games.

Beardmask

I was really hoping this would be the next Spookies! Can't wait.

Firstleveldruid

The OG silent hill 2 is a singularly PERFECT video game. In fact, a perfect piece of media. I’m very excited for the boys to experience the story and understand why the remake is a fitting place for them to do so!

tkol.cb

This was a Cracking Episode! The Best keeps getting better!

Brian Shannow

Regarding the movie discussion in the episode, the first movie by Cristophe Gans is mostly pretty good with some caveats, such as the the intro and some clunky exposition dump scenes and a couple of.. choices. Where it really shines is in the overall look and vibe, never to my recollection even once relying on jumpscares, using the og composer and reworking some of the music into the score. Mosor eor les covers the plot of the first game, which is all about the lore of the town itself, which is cool, but i find the towns lor eless interesting than what it does to the people that end up there. The film also spawned the much repeated falshood that the Silent Hill game is based on the real life town of Centralia, famous for having underground coal burning away for decades and people out walking disappearing into pits due tot he cavities below, but this was only a parallel drawn by the film to explain the fog, which in the game was really only there to deal with the pisspoor rendering of the consoles of the time. The second film is directed by no-one you've ever heard of, stars Kit Harrington of John Snow fame, and is, rightfully, regarded with the kind of disgust usually reserved for when you smell chicken thats gone off, or happen to see Jacob Rhys Moog. Gans apparently has a sequel to his original film coming out this year that as best I'm aware is an adaptation of this game, which i hope isn't shit, but theres a lot to fit in to the space of a film

Sarah

I've been waiting for this one, classic spookie! Thanks🤘🍻

James

Fantastic choice for a Spookies!

Phillif

Finally, another Spookies. It's one of my favourite series. I'm still wishing for a playthrough of alien isolation.

David Boggs

Love you boys and love the episode. If I had to have one critique, it would be the blatant lack of a Sir Inge joke…only kidding. Cheers lads!

JediPrincess420

Best way to end a busy sports bar employee weekend! Always catch you guys after the chaos of Sunday work this time of year. Congrats on the Vikings win today Gav, looked like a great time!

Darren Steele

Same. It was driving me nuts. I was super happy when the tool tip came up and Gav read it and then immediately went back to not smashing windows. Lol.

Adam Walker

I'm only a couple minutes in and come here to say how cool it is to have done the in game Spookies intro with reflections in the puddles and everything. You can really tell you make this stuff with love!

rkg

I haven't been this hungover for a while! So thank you. Gav - <3

rkg

IT WAS RIGHT THERE!! We've let you down, Boggsy.

Cody Reeves

Am I being daft, can we access episode 2 now?

Cody Reeves

Okay I am dumb, solved my own crisis. Didn’t realise I was in the ahead of the curve club

Cody Reeves

The ‘check it out on Patreon’ is for the youtube only viewers (the real sluggy slugs) when this episode is released publicly on Saturday, directing said sluggy slugs to sub to see episode 2 which us patreons will already have on Saturday. We are behind the curtain seeing how Gav makes his sausage!

Ains

Came here to say this. What an intro gents! 👏🏻

Geoff Alexander

Does anyone else hear Paint it Black when the juke box first starts playing????

Scott and Sora

I love spooky stories and games, but I get too anxious and can't handle it. You guys are the perfect way for me to experience this kind of stuff, 'cause I know there's gonna be some grotty shenanigans or sick burns coming down the pipe to take the edge off!
