Caroline Adams

I’m sick too Morgan lol at least I’m not alone haha

SHHHSlayer

You have heard this narrator before actually! At the start of episode 1, there was this same narrator explaining the beginning of mankind

BGTitan

Oh hey! I actually wasn't expecting this! The narrator is the same narrator from episode 1 of V1. Who is voiced by Jen Taylor, most famous for her role as Cortana in Halo. While I'm not a Halo player, I always thought it was kind of neat they got her for such a small bit. Her voice is very soothing. Dust: Dust is basically this world's gas and electricity. It's in everything from cars to lights to most weapons you see in the show. Kingdoms: So fun fact about the map! Monty actually made it by squirting a little bit of ketchup on a napkin and smooshing it about a bit. They obviously cleaned it up a little but that's mostly what came out. Grimm: I've always liked the atmosphere of this one. The bigger and more jagged spikes on the Grimm indicate that it's much older. Aura: Something not covered in this video is that once a warrior runs out a aura they also cannot use their semblance anymore. Aura powers the semblance. No aura, no superpower. His name is Lie Ren, but everyone calls him Ren. Also, do not do the WoRs for V3 until at least episode six of that volume. Spoilers all over a couple of those vids.

CorgiSnapz

One thing the Aura video shows but doesn't really explain is that Aura also extends into the weapons they wield, also making them very tough. You can see this Aura extension in the part of the video where the Warrior gets handed the sword by the shopkeep. This will answer a question many people have with things that happen in the 1st episode of Volume 2.

CrowOfAFeather

Don't worry about not understanding everything right away, you're still early into the show! Give it a volume or two more :) and you've got people here willing and able to help you with any misunderstandings.

Charlee's World

I have been watching the show through Not-So-Average-Fangirl

1. To all the RWBY fans on here: Can we all agree to stop gaslighting Morgan, when it comes to certain things?! Yes we can't spoil what they get right, but we don't have to lie when they're onto something. Like with Blake's cat ears. Yes, that bow looked like cat ears, but did we really have to me mean about it? We can always choose to keep our mouths shut!! 2. To you Morgan: I didn't know this mini series existed, so I'm glad I got to watch this on here, cause I was more lost than I thought😅. 3. I really enjoyed this. I was expecting V2 episodes, but I'm glad you did this in-between volumes instead. Thank you, and I hope you're well and not ill, and hopefully you're having a nice day. Peace✌🏼

Jittercritter

I feel like it’s worth clarifying that the Dust being found in only 4 basic forms was either forgotten or retconned. This is never outright stated in universe, but it’s shown. So don’t hang on too hard to that part lol

Jittercritter

It’s always been a headcanon of mine that Gambol Shroud’s ribbon has gravity dust woven into it. It explains its behavior a lot!

Vex Valor

The narrator of these is the narrator for RWBY. Go back to episode 1. It's the same narrator for that intro as well. Also Lie Ren goes by Ren normally. Glad you watched these videos. They definitely do help i explaining the world and are very informative. :) Theorize away. That's part of the fun for RWBY.

Phoenix_mercury

Pyrrha says it in an ep that their weapons are "conduits" for aura

Phoenix_mercury

Yeah, aura is basically the battery and semblance is the tool so a flat battery means no tool

Luna

Okay serious moment, you have heard this voice before, she spoke in the monologue in episode 1! She also voices Cortana from halo, which is very awesome considering RT blew up because of Red vs Blue, a web show that used halo to film

Lawrence Lee

No, we can't. Because the shock value is literally why people watch RWBY reactions. And remember. Elijah and Mosco were the ones who gaslit them first. And they are their friends so maybe we don't bother with that

Zora Brightwood

Basically Blake's semblance is that she can make "shadow clones" of herself not really like Naruto it's a literal manifestation of her shadow.

Phoenix_mercury

1. No, obviously not, it's kinda part of the fndm by now to keep new people shocked by reveals. Also are you forgetting who did it first? Elijah and mosco, their friends, if you don't like it then maybe don't read comments?? It's the same as how mosco asks for fake spoilers🤷

Ryan

Who is narrating it? The narrator. A completely trustworthy, reliable narrator. Who else would it be?

Jules Moum

I've never watched Elijah and Mosco's reactions to RWBY. I was "waiting" for Morgan to start it. They're the reason I started to watch RWBY in the first place!

Arashi

Minor note, it's not Fauna, it's Faunus, even when it's in the singular. The bunny girl Cardin was abusing was a rabbit Faunus. While not really covered highly, the term 'kingdom' is not used as we have in our history. They're more like city-states with probably a few dozen miles beyond the (literal) walls for farming. While they can claim hundreds of miles as 'theirs', there's no actual enforcement of anything.

Lamar Hayward

To see Blake's semblance, you have to watch her combat scenes at reduced speed. On YouTube maybe around 50% should enable you to notice better. It's right there.

Verdigree

Now, I will say, the narrator did say “propellant” (like fuel, etc) and not “repellant”, just to head off the possibility of confusion occurring, lol

Verdigree

To be fair, it WAS a bow, it was just also a deception

Jyoster

Fun fact: How the map for Remnant came to be has a simple yet funny origin. Basically, the layout of the continents was the result of ketchup stains. No kidding, Monty Oum once went to an IHOP when creating the concept of RWBY. And he got inspired by the ketchup stains on his napkin, and based the general outline off of them. Truly an example that inspiration can come from anywhere.

DominusInFortuna

Grimm are not animals. Animals have souls and Aura in the RWBYverse, Grimm do not. Grimm are just soulless monsters. (And also the visual differences between Red Trailer and main show are just that: Visual differences. No lore reason)

Faroth

Think of grimm as heartless from kingdom hearts

Faroth

Going back is amazing to think velvet could solo the whole cardin team, but she is a pacifist

Faroth

13:50 war... War never changes...
