Ep 5: The sweet catharsis of watching Pyrrha decimate Team CRDL. Sigh… So beautiful. Also, a little detail I love is how Pyrrha sometimes uses the little divet in her shield to help aim her rifle. So cool. Ep 6: The talk between Blake and Yang in the classroom remains one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. The lighting, the voice acting, the dialogue, it’s all so perfect for this warm heart to heart, of Yang showing some genuine vulnerability and her tendency to take on the role of Team Mom. It’s also the first real bit of depth we get from Yang and it was so, so needed. I love this scene. I could gush about it for hours. Anyway, outside of that fantastic scene we also get some nice comedy beats from Jaune and Ren while Nora is literally sitting five feet away. It is a shame that they couldn't give Yang a better dress due to time and/or budget. “Practice what you preach.” Nora spitting facts.

Not really. The show is too inconsistent on the character allusions for them to be a spoiler. And I have known people not realize who she is based on even after the moment I think you mean.

To paraphrase Miles Luna's answer to what advise he would give to his character: "She's into you, don't you get it!!!" Pyrrha's inspiration is not Athena (though I get it with her Greek inspired outfit and also fighting with spear and shield), not enough owls for that. She's based on a different Greek, who does not make an appearance in Epic.

Pyrrha vs CRDL remains one of my favorite fights of the show. Others are certainly more epic and pivotal, but this one is just so *fun*, not to mention thoroughly cathartic.

There is a combination of several things happening with Pyrrha and her name and her inspiration, one of them being her last name, "Nikos" being like the Greek goddess Nike, the personification of Victory (It's very common to have not heard of her, most people only know the 12 Olympians and Hades, but there's more Greek gods than I can count)

burning the candle will always be one of my favourite episodes just for that conversation between blake and yang, its the first time we ever see yang being truly vulnerable and trusting anyone enough to expose her own weaknesses and abandonment issues, I've always felt the chemistry between blake and yang was different from the rest of the team and that "ill save you a dance ;)" really sealed the deal for me so welcome to the world of shipping bumbleby, you are certainly not alone its been THE most popular ship in rwby for as long as the show has existed and one of the most popular WLW ships in general online.

I don't know if anyone has said they probably have, but back in the day, there was an epick shiping ware Blake with Sun (Black Sun) vs Blake with yang (Bumblebee). It was toxic and gliace. I miss those days. If you read any RWBY fanfiction for some reason, the Weiss X Yang seems to be the most depressing work.

So to give you the characters that JNPR are based on, they are all based on mythological/historical characters who crossed dressed at some point. Jaune: Joan of Arc - French female who dressed as a man to fight in a war with England Nora: Thor- Norse God who dressed as a woman to reclaim his hammer Pyrrha: Achilles- Greek Hero who hid as a woman for a time Ren: Mulan - Chinese female who disguised herself as a man to fight the Mongols in the army.

Barb said in the commentary (I think it was the commentary, it might have been the Afterbuzz interview) that the 'one day' comment wasn't "one day she'll be into you" but more of a "one day you'll figure it out and move on'" I agree that could have been communicated better though.

i'd like to point out that Blake does do a little stutter step while initially following the laser pointer as if she's trying to step on it to catch it, much like a cat does i attribute her being so exhausted she fell back on more feline instincts than what she'd usually be like, if she weren't so tired she'd have realized only a few people know she's a faunus and would think to use a laser pointer as a gag against her, and Sun despite him being a funny guy, is also a faunus and would never do that (it's gotta be just a tad racist, at the very least insensitive), so if she was not exhausted she probably would have realized it was Yang in the first place

Fun fact: joan of arc was an amazing leader but was a terrible fighter, so they put that in jaune as he didnt know how to fight but is a good leader and have the entusiasm and charisma In dnd terms he is a paladin, which by needing so many different stats, they never get high stats into something so they start slow being bad at everything till later they level up their game, but still at low levels they can tank for others and help them by leading the group, just like jaune does

About ruby and the dance, remember she is 2 years younger than the rest, so even if she is super cool and a great fighter, for the rest she is just a 15yo child while the rest are 17-19yo She herself is way childish than the average 15yogirl, kinda of a tomboy who just wanna be on her hood and boots and fighting monsters or stuff like that (even if she uses a combat skirt)
