While Winter was no longer in Mistral after giving her report, Weiss had to go somwhere. Couldn't stay in Atlas reliably and knowing shit is going down in Mistral is her best bet. Also raven isnt working for Salem. Not sure where you got that idea

Ren's Semblance IS what Nora says it is. Grimm can sense (and specifically hunt) negative emotions like bats use echolocation, Ren's Semblance hides those emotions like a temporary wall between the Grimm and themselves.

U can hear footsteps after he said "after her", he is from police, so they get after her. Why citizens should go? ALSO That's why Raven is so interesting. She cares, we know bc of portals, she is watching Yang and Qrow said it "Do you know Yang lost her arm? It's theoretical question I know you know" - so Qrow knew Raven is watching her all the time. But Raven don't want to care, maybe bc of Summer, maybe bc she want to be loyal to bandits and she don't want them to being involved to them and Salem. We don't know. But Raven and Qrow are poetic: Raven's Semblance can make her be there for her family all the time but she don't want to. Qrow's Semblance make being around his family difficult and dangerous but he really want to be there for them.

Ep 3: Yeah, I've always appreciated that Ghira's speech didn't work. While, yes, the Faunus of Menagerie seem to agree with Ghira, getting them to actually join the fight and defend a bunch of humans in a dangerous situation wouldn't be an easy task. And this is before you throw in the fact that they don't know Sienna has been taken out, I believe. So Oscar is voiced by Aaron Dismuke and his imitation of Shannon McCormick (Ozpin) is scarily on point. He's got the cadence down perfectly, and I've always appreciated that they didn't have Shannon speak through Oscar's body and just kept it as Aaron. The fact that Jaune, Ren, and Ruby are all freaking out over Oz's little backflip and stuff and Nora's just like "yeah...and?" She's so unimpressed, I love her. Ep 4: Love that Yang was very much aware Shay D Mann was walking her into a trap. My baby girl so unimpressed. So Nora is based on Thor, and she awoke her semblance on a Thursday..... Thors-day. "Your mom kidnapped me?!" "You kidnapped her?!" I will never not laugh at this. Even Raven's little "ugh" is so funny. The Freezerburn reunion is so cute and wholesome. Outside of Klein, Yang is the first friendly face Weiss has seen in months, and she just launches herself into Yang's arms because she missed her and Blake and Ruby so flippin much and she's not even touching the ground cuz she's so short and Yang being surprised but she missed Weiss too and cradling the back of her head and AHHHHHHH!!! And that's before we get into Home playing in the background. Two down! Two to go! It's all so cute! The scene between Yang and Raven has always been one of my favorites. I love this big show Raven puts on. She's clearly talking like she's giving a speech in front of her crew, projecting her voice for not just Yang but the rest of the people there. Raven knows Yang's been searching for her, so she treats it like a reward. All the fanfare, the offer to even stay the night and she'll have her cooks whip something up. It almost feels like she's rehearsed this moment in her head a million times, that she has a script of how this encounter would go. But Yang goes off script when she reveals that she's not here for Raven, and we see Raven's demeanor change from attempting to joke with Yang ("Well you certainly finished it"), to almost sort of hurt ("Family. Only coming around when they need something"). She then even tries a different approach, telling her that Oz is shady and that Yang shouldn't get mixed up in all this big picture stuff. That she should stay with Raven and her bandits ("Maybe you're already where you belong"). It's so fascinating to me, and why Raven is one of my favorite characters (more on that later, I'm sure).

Qrow and Raven's semblances are so interesting. Qrow's semblance is essentially bad luck, or so he interprets it, causing him to become an alcoholic because he wants to be able to be close to friends and family, but every time he tries someone ends up getting hurt. Raven ran away from relationships and seemingly only wants to be alone with her tribe without any major attachments, but yet her semblance is all about forming close bonds with others and likely wouldn't work if she had no one she was close to.

I'm pretty sure "Saber Rodentia" is the guy who yelled "AFTER HER!" ...mostly because of the last name, which has the word 'rodent' in it...and he appears to be some kind of rodent faunus.

Saber Rodentia (like Rodent) is the guy who yelled "after her" and is the Belladonna's head guard. He's also got what i think is the worst faunus trait in the whole show... gerbil teeth. And yup that is the big contradiction about raven and what makes her such an interesting character to me. Her actions completely oppose her semblance, her literal soul betrays her. Also Raven is not aligned with Salem, they've never said that.

The struggles of being attracted to women and being a fan of Rwby, almost every woman in the show is attractive in their own way. Oh, you have no idea! FreezerBurn [Weiss x Yang] became one of Mosco's favorite ships because of that final scene. And I don't blame her, they are adorable together and have good chemistry.

I love the use of previously featured songs in the score for chapter 4! Yang fighting Shay D Mann and his buddies: "I Burn" Yang calming her self after: "Armed and Ready" Weiss escaping from the cage: "Mirror Mirror" Weiss leaping into Yang's arms: "Home"

That hug scene between Yang and Weiss is what caused Mosco to start shipping Freezerburn so much and I relate because years ago when this episode first came out, I did the same. Raven and the bandits are not working for Salem. They are a third party in this that is neither working for Salem nor against. They are just doing whatever is best for their tribe and not giving a shit about the people outside of it. Like when they were raiding villages and causing distress that brought the Grimm. They didn't care they were causing that because it's not their problem. They live by "the strong live and the weak die" mentality.

Qrow's semblance does make it hard for him to be around friends and family, yet he tries to be as well as he can. Raven's on the other hand makes it incredibly easy to be around her friends and family, yet she she does not even try. It is a neat reflection of the Branwen twins. Weiss could have escaped from the cage at any moment, but she did wait until the right moment as she still was in the middle of nowhere.

I've always felt that the semblance talk this episode has one of the best and subtlest jokes in the show in that the soundtrack sounds so much more like a corporate training backing track or like a "your changing body" type thing. It makes me laugh every time

That hug at the end of 4 absolutely broke me. I hadn’t realized until that moment just how much the girls being split up had been messing with me, and Weiss having nothing to say and just throwing herself into that hug the way she did brought it all out.

I love how instant the reunion is too here. Yang finds Weiss and it instantly go from "take me to Ruby" to "take us to Ruby". Even before Yang knew she was kidnapped (could be in a cage for any reason)

On your note about how cults often start out as genuine and good—thank you for actually understanding the White Fang plotline. I’ve been pulling my hair out for YEARS because so much of the fandom just doesn’t get it. ALSO a lot of people don’t put enough attention into the fact that Oz describes himself as ‘a combination of countless men who have spent their lives trying to better the world of remnant.’ Oz isn’t just one soul reincarnating over and over, he’s SEVERAL souls melded together. He’s like a whole Hivemind compressed into one unwillingly parasitic entity. Horrific, sad, and VERY fascinating. He’s one of my favorite takes on immortality because like wtf.

Better check the next few episodes just to be sure ;) As a DM, your supposed paranoia over everything is very very reminiscent of players who got bamboozled by their DM one too many times.
