Jeal Tar

Morgan how far ahead on reactions are you out of curiosity?

Xýliandra

I'm guessing they're at the start of V6 by now. I'm just guessing, I honestly don't know🤷

Xýliandra

Oooooo. We've maid (😏) it to That episode!! This is gonna be Good😁 4:15 My guess is that the moon of Remnant is just turning around. But it could also be symbolic of the pieces coming together. Like, as of the end of this, Team RWBY will be fully back together again. Idk what else to say😐 25:20-28:10 No one had fun at this part!! Yo, when I got to This part of the episode, I was FURIOUS!!! I was yelling and screaming at my screen, telling off the crew that if Cinder killed of Weiss here, I'd figure out a way to slaughter her!! She'd be pleading for death once I'm through with Cinder, ISTG, I wanted to fuck her up😡👊🏼💥 41:50-42:13 Wooo, look at those MOVES!!! Ozpin's weapon may be a cane, but GOD DAMN, He Can Do A Lot With It🤩 47:48 Umm, Cinder's actually left arm, Is Gone!! Ruby probably took it along with her left eye! Salem gave Cinder a new arm, in the form of Grimm!! Which is Fucking INSANITY TO ME😱🫪 48:10-48:40 VALIDATION👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!! RAVEN IS THE SPRING MAIDEN!!! She just used Vernal as cover, which is FUCKING BRILLIANT🤩🤩🤩🤩 Last edit: I really liked your reaction to these episodes. Jaune finally unlocked his semblance. No it's not healing, but it's something good. I can tell you that much! Super looking forward to the next episodes!! But anyways, I hope you're having an amazing day, and I'll see you in your next reaction Morgan. Peace✌🏼

Hearsvoices

Regarding the moon - This moon isn't tidally locked like Earths moon is. So what you are seeing is the shattered side of the moon facing the planet during this episode. It's not coming back together in any visible way, just a different angle than we usually see.

Eric Smith

Trello says they've finished v5, next scheduled recording is Adam short and v6c1

Eric Smith

Always makes me wonder if it used to be tidally locked before it broke

GlitchedLetters

To explain the moon looking different, that’s the phases their moon has! We often see a half moon or a crescent, but their full moon has the entire front of it destroyed. I wonder if a new moon means we would only see the pieces floating around it like a vertical ring of sorts. ‘You sound just like your mother” the scream and gasps that left the fandom when this episode dropped could be heard around the world. First Summer mention from Raven, and it’s THAT in response to Ruby trying to convince her to join them. Insane. Jaune’s line to Cinder is always so powerful to me. He isn’t just speaking from loss; when you remember that he’s inspired off of Joan of Arc, a saint, it makes sense why he would be so distraught and angry at Cinders lack of moral sense or care for others. He’s from a family of warriors and is a leader of his own team. Everything Cinder does and craves is directly against his morals and beliefs. Leo is such a well done take on the cowardly lion. He’s a Faunus in mistral, but he’s on the council. There’s so many layers to that already, but then you have the fact that he joined Salem (likely very easily if he’s always been this way, even in his youth) a while ago, meaning he’s the traitor sabotaging the peace they’ve had for so long. And as you pointed out, even his weapon reflects his fear and desire to protect himself. Not only is it a shield, but his weapon is completely ranged rather than melee, so that he can avoid getting close to whoever he’s fighting. Oh boy… yeah, poor Weiss. Though I believe this is supposed to be their allusion of the apple from Snow White. You can hear her struggling to breathe, and when she’s getting healed, she gasped for air. Snow White didn’t get poisoned from eating the apple, in the origin story, the apple piece got lodged in her throat and she couldn’t breathe. But by fairytale logical, a kiss brought her back to life by removing the apple in her throat (in some changes to the Grimm story, the real way was her coffin getting jolted around by the Princes men).

SQX Barto

The spear reminds me of Phyrra.... :D People don't disintegrate, only Grimm. Cinder burned Phyrra. (I'm not sure if Cinder's semblance is ever really explained, but CRWBY is lazy like that; some information you have to find on RWBY Wiki, even if it would be crucial to the show...) If we were really evil, we would suggest Takopi's Original Sin, or Made in Abyss, Violet Evergarden, and so on :D

Jittercritter

Just based off of the term I always assumed ‘full moon’ would be the undamaged side and new moon would be the damaged side

Faroth

Cinder's actual semblance is Scorching Caress, it allow her to touch something not alive and start heating it up until it melts and then change its form and even make it detonate, combinated with dust allow her to throw it and make it explode in distance by command as in ep1v1 and also allow her to create her signatures scimitars and her bow and arrows. Cinder's semblance dont work directly on living things, but Pyrrah wasnt alive anymore. Thats how she dissintedrated Pyrrah, since she wasnt alive anymore. she, in dnd terms, wasnt considered a 'creature' anymore but a 'corpse' which qualifies as an "object"

Eric Smith

They did in the red trailer, the moon phases actually progress in each one, but other than that I can't think of a view of the undamaged side. Interesting that the phase in these episodes is also called the full moon when it's the fully damaged side facing Remnant, but at least it's a circle

Jeal Tar

Wait Morgan has a trello?

GlitchedLetters

I assumed Full moon would be the full damaged side since we can see the moon lit up. Since new moons are casted under earths shadow, I would think theirs is similar (unless it isn't) lmao.

Xýliandra

I'll do you one better. What is trello😐?

Rod

Pay attention to the sculpture, all thing will be revealed

Rachel Mae

ah yes the weiss-kabob we've all seen it. At least you immediately get to watch the next episodes. When this came out originally there was a several week hiatus

BGTitan

Ep 11: Love that Qrow’s first instinct was to shoot when they saw Raven. “If you’re going to shoot me, shoot me. That was insulting.” I love her. She’s horrible and I love her. “You sound just like your mother.” Oooh, what’s this? Summer crumbs? Get enough of those and we might actually have a slice of bread someday. Lol I will once again give props to Mr. Miles Luna for his voice acting as Jaune. His whole speech before the fight is just masterful. So much emotion. And I’m also inclined to think that Cinder was completely genuine with her “who are you” because she definitely did not pay Jaune any attention while at Beacon. She would not have clocked him as a threat at all. Imagine having to wait two weeks after that cliffhanger. Ep 12: I love watching people react to Raven being the Spring Maiden. Some people figure it out but a lot of people get blindsided. Either way it’s a very fun reveal. Also makes her conversation with Qrow back in V4 very funny. “Well you’ve certainly got someone strong on your side. I’ve seen the damage. …I’m not talking about the Grimm. And I’m not talking about you, either.” Except he was! Ah, got to love hindsight.

Jeal Tar

do you know the link to their trello?

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

It says a lot that Raven can mock Cinder Fall for having "a surname so appropriate she probably picked it herself", then trot out a Spring Maiden named Vernal and practically everybody buys it. Good on you for having your doubts.

Taigan

Hazel & Gretchen = Hansel & Gretel

Robert Hunter

The reason why the moon is broken will be revealed at a later date, I cannot tell you when or how, but bring extra notepads because you will need them.

Zirkumflex

Raven's mask was just there to conceal her Maiden eyes when she used the powers. And yes, her being the Maiden means that somewhere there is a dead girl who had Raven in her last thoughts.

Faroth

7:42 yang didnt choose qrow over raven, whe choosed ruby over raven 32:40 kinda, hazel=hanzel, but the fight style, yeah, hulk, angry and cant feel pain 39:02 remember that in dnd terms, Jaune is a paladin, they start slow in terms of stats but become really good guardians for others 47:00 cinder losed her arm against ruby's powers since had that grimm thing inside her that allowed her to absorb the maiden's powers, so now has a grimm's arm, thats why the silver eyes hurt her

Jyoster

Oh boy... Oh boy! Do I have stuff to say about episode 11! And it all has to do with that final scene! Well, mostly. I'll talk more about the other aspects after this rant. So yeah, Weiss being one of my favorite characters seeing her get stabbed like that sucked. Ending the episode on that massive cliffhanger sucked even more. And this was the episode they went into the mid-season hiatus at when it first aired, so we had to wait for weeks for the next episode! And CRWBY had the audacity to tease this by slashing the W in the logo to imply Weiss wasn't going to make it! It all sucked!! But this hits me on a personal level, even beyond all of that... You know why? Chapter 11 aired on YouTube on January 6th that year, and that date matters very much for me. This episode aired... ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! I was nearly given a heart attack as a birthday present by having my favorite character be critically injured like that! So thank you CRWBY, I'm never forgetting that stunt you pulled!! Ahem, well... Got that out of my system. --- Yeah, regarding Emerald. From an outsider's point of view, yeah, she's in a bad situation teaming with Cinder. But for Emerald, she grew up on the streets, had no family to call her own, and had to fight every day just to survive. While Cinder is seen as manipulative and even a bit abusive towards her, to Emerald, Cinder is the closest thing she has to a family. She provides her with the basics needs and is always there, intentional or not, and that's something Emerald cherishes.

Zora Brightwood

Totally forgot Hazel is based on Hansel from Hansel and Gretel, probably bc its not as obvious as others

dainbramage7

Imagine waiting a week to find out whether or not Weiss made it. The fandom went absolutely bonkers during that time. #RBY was trending at one point because the W was very much in doubt.

SaviorOfNirn

wait morgan is gay? i had no idea!

RetroBeastto

Amazing reaction to RBY :3 Yeah now imagine waiting a week ti find out what happened next haha it was suspenseful Hazel and his sister Gretchen is based off the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. I didn’t realize it until much later haha

SauceyRed

I always wondered how she disintegrated Pyrrha, and how Cinder was able to do so much with her semblance, so thanks lmao

Rod

Are you aware that Mosco has forsworn labeling “favourites”.

Erinyes

Unlike our moon, Remnant's does not appear to be tidally locked, thus it rotates and position of the fragments changes. This time we're seeing it head on, so to speak.

LightMoua

You are right, we all should get tested. If there is one thing the RWBY Fandom loves, it's making people watch for the first time and endure the suffering we had to

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Ruby took her eye at the end of the last volume that Tyrian let us know about in the first episode of this volume. She also took her arm that we only learned about in this last episode

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Misery loves company your friends are one of us too. I believe they had a lot to do with you dealing with this weekly pain and suffering

Lavender Onyxheart

Did you notice the cinematography of that final shot with Weiss after she got skewered? Overlay it with Pyrrha's final moments just before Cinder incinerated her body and I bet you'd have it almost 1 to 1

Ryan

I thought the glasses were a prop for your My Adventures with Superman reactions...

Ryan

25:43 Weiss: "I am a snowflake on the wind; watch how I soar..."

Jonathan Morgan

Small correction. Remnant doesn't revolve around the Moon. It's moon us just not tidally locked as ours is, so it's rotation and revolution around Remnant aren't synced up.

Jonathan Morgan

For the "Can one person physically hold more than one Maiden's magic" question, it's important to remember that previous Ozpin hosts used to have all 4 Maidens plus the Magic Oz still has. So the human body withstanding it isn't a problem. You likely can't inherit more than one set through the normal process, but Cinder and Salem have obvious found a workaround

Moonas

Hazel and Gretchen are twins based on Hansel and Gretel fairytale.

David Johnson

Apparently, Hazel is based off of Hansel, from Hansel and Gretel. His semblance allows him to feel no pain - which is why he can just jam Dust crystals into his arms, basically using his whole body as his weapon.

Vex Valor

Some details to pick up, Vernal and Raven were very close. Raven can only create portals to people she is close to and when she opened a portal to let Cinder through, it was a portal to Vernal. And that's why Vernal would close her eyes when "using the powers" while Raven wore a mask to hide who's eyes were glowing.

Jittercritter

This has some interesting implications about the ‘rules’ of Remnant and how it affects semblances and science

Faroth

monty did mention in life that a lot of the worldbuilding was based on dnd rules, even the characters has dnd classes and attacks, ruby is a fighterbattlemaster/warlock archfey, weiss is a bladesinger wizard, blake is an assasin rogue, yang a berserker barbarian and jaune is a redemption paladin (these are modern versions but monty had the standard idea from 3e). he never get to publish their sheets but the other writters did and they shared a lot of verbal info with him
