So some BTS trivia. The writers had intended for Blueblood to be a Duke, since it made no sense for there to be even more princes/princesses around with Celestia and Luna having that tile instead of Queen, and certainly not her nephew given that makes no sense. But, executive meddling showed up and forced them to make him a prince... because they thought kids would be too dumb to understand what a 'duke' was. There has been much fan theory crafting to explain how TF Celestia has a nephew wandering around when her only sister has been gone for a thousand years, generally settling on it being either a case of her having adopted a member of Blueblood's ancestry, it being a kind of ceremonial relationship due to his family having been the royalty in charge of Canterlot before the Princesses took over, or just that his name really is 'Prince' and everypony just assumes he has to be related to Celestia in some way.

Prince Blueblood is actually a duke and his relation to Celestia (if any) is very distant. I do know that there used to be a unicorn city led by a vain king so perhaps Blueblood is a descendant.

The Canterlot Gardens were actually designed by Luna, in fact the whole castle was. Although, she had some help from an unlikely source. And the flora was first planted by a very special pony with quite a green horn.

The terrified shriek from Rarity as she realizes in horror and doesn't want to be found by her "Prince" is what gets me lol. Also when I first saw this episode my jaw hit the floor when Fluttershy went crazy! XD

Yay, Octavia Melody rockin' out on either the cello or the double base! It's apparently up for debate in the fandom on which specific instrument it is due to how she holds it and other stuff. But, yay! My second favorite background character! Totally ship her with Vinyl Scratch, who is my first favorite. Can't wait for...that episode! A few more seasons. I'd say this is not a great finale to judge MLP finales as a whole. They get better in the next few seasons. Hope your eyes are doing better!

What I like about this episode is that it didn't go the route you might expect regarding Twilight; she doesn't impose rules on her friends to not embarrass her and doesn't get mad at them for the party falling apart, and also she doesn't throw a fit about not getting much time with Celestia. We've seen how intense and manic she can be, wanting things to be perfect and to look good in front of Celestia, so they easily could have taken this episode in that direction, and I'm so glad they didn't.

This episode is one of the weaker season finales luckily season 2 stars makes up for it with pure Chaos. Also that book looks interesting I found it on Amazon and read the sample and it seems good so I bought it for myself.

Yeah, the episode is painful to watch for peoplw with neuroatypical empathy (just made that up, don't know if it's a thing). When a character makes a fool of themselves, I feel just as embarrassed as if it happened to me. Still, watching you react to it definitely made the rewatch more enjoyable ^^

As a theatre kid and actor, am I the only one who caught the fact that the gala song is referencing Into the Woods? Maybe it’s obvious, but no reactor I’ve watched has said it so idk 😭
