Self defense is justified to a degree. I thibknadam could have toned it down and give chances to surrerender but that fan be hard to critique. But it becomes clear that unlike Sienna hes killing because he wants to. And everyone giving him pats on the back for it only help encouage him thst hes right

Worth pointing out that in the fight in the forest, while Adam resorted to violence, he was being non-lethal until the last person who charged at Ghira. And he did seem ashamed during Ghira's reprimanding only to have Sienna applaud the kill. As much as Adam became an irredeemable monster, it wasn't all his fault.

V6 Character Short: Seeing Adam and Blake while they were still together and him gaslighting the hell out of her makes me want to deck this dude in the face. "I just get scared when it feels like you don't believe in me." Ugh, I hate him. But CRWBY heard our cries and gave us an entire fight scene with Sienna. What a baddie. Speaking of, I like seeing the subtle difference between Adam and Sienna here. You can see that, while she’s okay with using necessary violence, she’s not killing the guards. She’s mainly just knocking them out. And we saw from the robots earlier how easy it would be for her to do so. Adam on the other hand... Ep 1: UGH it is so good to see the girls all together again! Ruby used her semblance with Nora back in the first episode of V4. It became that red and pink twisting blob thing. I do like the added detail of the rose petals having touches of white because of Weiss though. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dudley over here. The bunk bed set up makes me wanna cry!!! AHHH! Showing off the Manticore (winged lions) and the Sphinx (big boy) Grimm was a neat way to start off the volume.

I think the coverup of Leo is less about specifically protecting Faunus and more about keeping negative emotions to a minimum. Grimm, after all.

I want to comment on that moment with Jaune where he makes Ruby promise to meet back with him at Argus. He does it because the last time someone he cared about split up to fight on their own, he never saw her again. He needs her to promise him she'll meet him again. Because Pyrrha didn't. Because she knew she probably wouldn't make it out.

Hehe, the violin was a nice touch. But yeah, we got to see a bit of what led Adam down that path. And we got to see a bit more of Sienna too, and while she meant well with her intentions, her result oriented perspective led to her to fail to notice the corruption she was inflicting on Adam. Yeah, it's been a thing since Volume 3, but the Grimm designs have started to be inspired by myths and legends too, much like most of the cast. This time, we have the Manticores, named and inspired by the mythological creature of the same name. As well as the Spinx, also inspired and named after its irl legend. The way I see regarding Leo's public image being kept, it makes sense to keep it that way. Can you imagine the panic and distrust the kingdom would have if they found out their own headmaster was conspiring against it? The negativity would've been enough to trigger another Grimm wave similar to Beacon. Not helped by him being a Faunus, which would've given the bad impression, and undo the good Ghira's group did that night. Had this been another setting with different rules, Leo's betrayal would've been fully revealed, but here, there's mayor consequences for that. Hehe, yeah. WhiteRose is a great ship. And yeah, smart move with the fanfics. Most of them take place during the Beacon arc, so you're good on that.

The lie about Leo was not really about the Faunus, but not telling people "Yeah the headmaster was a traitor working with terrorists", to not spread paranoia and fear (or more than the attempted attack is spreading anyway) The old lady is great.

Weirdly enough, Sun was supposed initially to travel with them, but the animators begged the writters to script him out since his fight style, semblance and weapon are a pain to be animated, so sadly, Sun is soo damn cool he had to be wrote out of the script. Writters still make him justice by doing one of the books with him and his team and team cvfe in vacuo

How effective Adam is in the fights in the character short only further highlights how hard he got "sassed from the Belladonna girl." A big reason that they covered for Leo is how much fear and panic there would have been if it got out that he is the reason almost every Huntsman on the continent of Anima is dead. The fear and panic will come eventually as the bandits and the Grimm destroy town after town, but at least it won't be everywhere all at once. Now that Blake isn't hiding her ears, she can't hide her emotions, either. She might as well be holding up a sign that says "I am sad; pretty girl is mad at me." The fight on the top of the train does wonders to show how far they have come as a team. In volume one they struggled to take down a Nevermore. And now they're taking down and entire flock of Manticores. While on a moving train. Harmless little old lady: *exists* Morgan: "I DON'T TRUST IT!" We all know what comes next...

I do think Leo being a faunus plays some role into why his memory was kept in tact. Or at least I think him being a faunus is a unexplored and interesting tidbit. The headmaster position is a position of politcal power and prestige and a faunus got it in the most openly racist country. I am sure Weiss's father used him as example of how the world is no longer racist. And while I am all for the truth, I do think revealing him as part of the plot will give ammo to people who do not want to be more accepting. That said, the white fang is already a faunus led group so finding out they had a faunus on the inside may not add anything new. The good will (for lack of a better term) earned by the Faunus coming to fight the white fang will probably also cover Lionheart's turn.

Ah, yes. Volume 6, my favorite volume in terms of overall content. Drama! Horror! Lore! A**holes with red hair and bull horns that honestly look more like a goat's IMO. And finally, a nursery rhyme with a short person complex. Plus, a whole lot more! I hope you enjoy this one, Morgan!

Just an FYI if Mosco or Elijah haven't let you know, I'm pretty sure now that you've watched episode 1 of volume 6, you should be able to read the two books that are based in Vacuo: After the Fall and Before the Dawn without worrying about spoilers. They pick up on what happened to Teams SSSN and CFVY after the fall of Beacon and once Sun heads to Shade Academy, which he announced in this episode.

Most of the population doesn't know about Salem so they can't reveal he was working for her and how would this be helpful for the general population to know that a person so high up that was meant to protect them turned their backs on them and conspired against them? This would just cause unrest and Grimm attacks. It sucks that they can't reveal the truth, but saving the people of Remnant is the number one priority for a huntsman.

Eh, I would actually take the writers word over the animators During the New York Comic Con, Barbara, Kerry, Gray, Miles and Lindsay addressed the cast bloat issue going forward to Volume 6, wanting to keep it down to one group (2:09:24) Miles: We really wanted this volume (v6) to have this awesome "journey-feel" and um, not so much like in Volume 4 where we were like jumping between a bunch of storylines but be with "One Group" on this crazy roller coaster across a continent..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgntSHzF8-Q Cast bloat was always an issue for their finances so Miles Luna also openly admitted at other panels that the production of Volume 5 was deeply fractured because they spent too much budget, time, and animator resources on separate character shorts (like the Ilia and Yang shorts), which took away from the main show. To fix this for Volume 6, they cut down on extra content, cut the unorganized side-plots, and chose not to model or animate extra factions (like Team SSSN for example) for the main journey to Atlas. Keeping Sun on the team would have meant keeping his character assets actively rendering and animated in every major action set-piece going forward, defying their goal to trim the narrative down to a tight, single-focused travel group.

The train fight sequence with "Miracle" playing in the background is one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. It's so nice to have the teams all back together again

I absolutely love WhiteRose - when I first got into this show, I did not expect to end up as obsessed with this pair as I did, but they really snuck up on me - and those pink rose petals from this episode have been living in my head rent free since the first time I saw that scene
