Unhinged Twilight might just be as scary as unhinged Pinkie Pie...

This is the reaction i've been waiting for since Party of One, it was absolutely worth the wait. Your reaction is amazing.. I think the Elements don't work for Celestia and Luna anymore because they don't have the same relationship anymore as 1000 years ago, plus the Mane 6 are embodiment spirits of the the Elements of Harmony so they are one and a same with the elements. Making them easier to use for them.

21:27 Harry, the bear, total sweetheart, a bit of a coward, and gives the best hugs.

22:03 Nah, I'd say we're at a stage 7 Twilighting. Slightly off and delusional.

4:18-4:44 Agreed. If I'm packing just for a 2 days trip, I'll be fine with Just my backpack. However, if it's a week long trip, or longer, I have either a bag or suitcase, depending on a couple factors: what's the weather like? Do I want to bring a nice outfit for a classy dinner? What shoes do I need? Do I need swimwear? Etc... Maybe it's a tism thing, but I honestly don't know🤷🏽‍♀️ 6:57-8:05 She is!! Idk if it was ever confirmed if Twilight is on the spectrum, but she's very autistic coded😅. She has a certain specific way of doing things, and I'm kinda here for it😂 20:55-21:30 Geezus Christ Fluttershy🫪🫪🫪😅😂🤣 Last edit: What an episode😅. I feel a bit called out, even tho I don't "Twilighting" that much these days😅. I'm glad Celestia told her and the rest of the Mane 6, that from now on, she only wants a letter if and especially When they've learned a lesson in friendship! But yeah, she can be a bit if a troll🤣🤣! Anyways, I hope you're having a wonderful day and I'll see you in your next reaction Morgan. Peace✌🏼

This is something I never got how people don't get it. Celestia outright said that the issue was that the Mane 6 are now bonded to the Elements, which is what removed the Sisters' bond. So many people seem to assume it was using the Elemetns on NMM that made Celestia unable to use them, but if that was the case Discord would have been freed centuries ago.

And we now officially at season 2! (The Premier was made during Season 1's production run). Aside from this being just an all around fun ep of Twilight going nuts, it marks the writers being able to change how the show works. In season 1 the show was marketed as "Educational/Informational" which meant it had to adhere to strict guidelines including having each ep end with a moral directly told to the audience. Season 2 ditched that designation and this was the in-universe reason for no longer needing to have a Dear Princess Celestia letter every time, and to not have to find a way to shoehorn Twilight into the story to be the one writing it.

This was the first MLP episode to really surprised me. I’d gotten used to the Moral Of The Week format, but I was certain the moral this time was going to be Twilight not sweating the small stuff. To have the show turn around and say “no, actually it’s her friends who were wrong to not take her problem seriously” kinda floored me. There will be a few examples of that as the series goes on where kids like me who grew up on 80s cartoon morals may be surprised when the show goes deeper than expected.

ah, yes, finally, autistic twilight entered the chat, it really shows how a neurodivergent brain reacts towards stuff that non-neurodivergent brains see as "normal" or "unimportant" while the neurodivergent brains start panicking over details that are important to them and start "twilighting", yes, thats a word that originated from this episode that describes Twilight's signature stress response and overthinking routine catastrophizing everything that ends up on her meltdowns

Faroth

What looks like "overreacting" to others is often a genuine, overwhelming threat response to a neurodivergent brain. and MVP here is Spike, who by knowing his mom, i mean, friend, for so many years, understood that twiligth could only be stopped by bringing in the origin of her fears to calm her down, Celestia herself, because in that estate, she would catastrophize every possible scenario every time, so she needed something to ground her that could have some logic behind it, in this case,Celestia telling her she dont need to do the report weekly, so Spike knowing her and understanding her fromt he start when he himself said it was nothing, he realized it was one of Twilight's meltdowns incoming so he called for superior help

Faroth

hasbro dont let them use the words, so they coded a lot of stuff in the show, like some lgtb stuff and twi being autistic/neurodivergent, but because hasbro is hasbro, they couldnt use the actual words, but yeah, twilight having a neurodivergent meltdown is so evident here that people cant argue otherwise

In case you didn’t notice, even magic started to look different and it’ll be like that from now on. In season 1, magic was just a little glow on the horns and sparkles, but now each unicorn has a distinct color to represent their own magic and flows around both the horn and the object they’re using their magic on. Twilights magic is like a dark pink (matching her streak on her hair and her cutie marc) while Rarity’s magic is now a light blue (matching her cutie mark). Even in the intro, we can Celestia’s magic is now yellow (also matching her cutie mark)

This episode is always a trip , especially with Tara Strong letting her Harley Quinn on the lose . Awesome voice work .

That was one of the things that attracted so many men on the show, telling them theybwere validated while societyntold them they were wrong and that should feel bad and hide that bad feeling for certain mental stress and some neurodivergent behaviors and then teh show was like "no, is ok, they are wrong, you are justbdifferent and totally should feel stuff out and say the things as they are"

Faroth

25:10 at least we can apreciate how much twilight's magic skills have improved, she teleported like 8 times in a row with amazing accuracy there back in s1 she teleported like once with a hard concentration and that was it

Fans dubbed the spiraling that Twilight goes through as 'Twilighting', aka where the brain just keeps spiraling down to the next and next most awful thing that could happen, even if it clearly isn't realistic. And yeah, the writers were clearly getting tired of having to shoehorn Twilight in every episode to write a letter to Princess Celestia (If I remember right the moral thing was so the show could be initially classified as an educational show for kids), and Hasbro started giving them more freedom from this point onwards, which ends up snowballing (Hasbro seeing what the writers can accomplish with more freedom, so giving them even more, etc). Now they can focus on other characters, and on episode plots that wouldn't necessarily be translatable to a simple moral. With Morgan relating so much to Twilight, I honestly think their ponysona would be a unicorn, which would round out the Skittle Squad with Elijah having a pegasus and Mosco an earth pony.

Willow 404

y'know, Mosco feels that she's a mix of Applejack/Rarity, Elijah is a mix of Rainbow Dash/Pinkie... does that make you Twilight/Fluttershy?

Sparrow

Gosh, rewatching media with all the perspectives I have now about mental health/illness and neurodivergence really calls me out and makes me realize just how crazy some of the things my mind has convinced me to believe are. Somehow, though, it can sometimes be much easier to tell when a character’s thoughts are crazy, just not my own, lol. This is why it bothered me watching another person react to this because they said “Lock her up” in response to Twilight, though. I get that her actions WERE extreme and DID put other ponies in danger, but as someone who’s neurodivergent and mentally ill and has experienced chronic invalidation, I just don’t think that calling my reactions “crazy” or “dramatic” or “too sensitive” is helpful. Reality checks can be helpful, but my feelings about something are still very real emotions, even if they’re not justified to the actual stakes of the situation.

2:11 its giving "hey hey hey stay out of my shed"

And this is how the term "twilighting" came to be. As someone with really bad OCD, I relate to this so much. Also, I like that they ALL get to send letters now. It opens up more story possibilities since Twilight doesn't have to be shoehorned into every single one.

DKscribe88

At least unhinged Morgan seems more silly and fun, rather than scary like Twi and Pinkie. Personally, I think Twi is scarier, cuz Pinkie did not put a spell on an entire town to incite a brawl. And yes, I totally relate to the handing in assignments last minute thing. Anxiety is a beast, and avoidance goes along with that.

Kintatsu

I mentioned this on Mosco's channel, but it was late enough that I'm not sure she saw it, so I'll repeat myself here: Twilight *might* be suffering some Discord-related PTSD this episode.

20:17 On some pony news site, somepony used this scene to enact a "rule" (read: not a real one) saying: Fanfictions having the premise "Rainbow Dash breaks her wing" are now forbidden. xD

30:40 And this is the first moment people started theorizing Big Macintosh might be trans :D (No spoilers of course, but it isn't the last ^^)
