Today's Management Quiz Question:

One of the bratty Sissies has followed every rule perfectly and looks smug thinking you have no reason to punish her during inspection. How do you respond?

A. Smugness is an invitation. I would rewrite the expectations after the fact so that everything she did becomes suddenly wrong, keeping her permanently off-balance.

B. The standards exist for a reason. I would inspect her with the highest possible scrutiny and find every microscopic fault so she learns perfection is still not enough.Which one, and be honest about it.

Answer Is A. One small point that She managed to overlook, or did not take into account... I am a Manager. I do Not need a reason to punish her, but her smugness gives me reason enough! "Bend over and assume the position, Bitch!" *smacking a cane in my hand* "Hurry it up! I do not have all day!"

I mean definitely B! If it was A, sissies would just stop trying...

I think I would prefer B, and the stated reason is good enough to pick that option. I also think that while choosing A once in a while is a good way of keeping Sissies guessing/off balance, doing that too often would erode Sissy energy (like Michelle said), and would lead to it being just a punishment session with extra steps.

Absolutely, what made me not choose A is that it feels like we are picking the default action, to be done the vast majority of the time (exceptions at the manager's discretion, as you say). So I would not choose total manager-being-random as the default action. Though, to be fair, this is only in the case of an overly smug Sissy, so the issue should be self-correcting as long as Managers keep them in line. See, here I am, riding the fence again! 😀

Once again, I agree with Shannon A. Keeping a sissy on the wrong foot is essential.
