Just finished the first Patreon stream and I'm waiting for it to process so I can post it. If you were there during the stream, let me know your experence and any issues. (Moble users were having a hard time for sure, but idk if there's anything I can do about that.)

Im happy you are moving on from vimeo and their cutthroat policies, but i really miss being able to replay the vod and actually pause i feel like having that freedom was fun.

Wanted to post my thoughts if KOL/ his team is looking for feedback on patreon streaming as a viewer. It's a long one: Personal thoughts/ observations on Patreon Streaming: Positives: -Way less latency; could actively see comments in Passione+ club updating on stream almost as soon after. -Video Quality is clear on PC -Wayyyyy more stable than vimeo; didn't get any crashes or interruptions. It just worked. -Kol keeps money Negatives: -No rewind/ pausing is a big loss. That feature make it way easier to navigate if you're not watching stream from beginning 100% of the time. Can't do anything about it, but it made the streams way more convenient as a watcher. They really need those features -Video player features are almost nonexistent. Can't change quality for better/ worse connection, can't see how long stream been live on time bar, etc. Not the end of the world, but makes it's hard to do things which ain't great for a long stream. -It has a lot of problems on mobile. Quality is worse, harder to full screen/ picture in picture, hard to keep stuff off screen for me, etc.. I usually watch on my tablet while I do other stuff, so that made it a big downgrade from that POV. -Patreon emojis are annoying and get in the way. Thankfully, most people were respectful and stopped reacting during stream, but it can really get in the way of the video for the reactions. -VOD still hasn't loaded for me after the stream as of writing. -The time limit sucks. I don't think we'll reach it with how long streams usually are, but it made certain things feel like it was a rush Overall thoughts: Vimeo's pricing is insane for a mediocre streaming platform, so I get wanting to transition to something less financially predatory. At the same time, Patreon's streaming ain't all there yet and it made it harder as viewer. It has a good base, but the quality of life features really make the stream kinda more cumbersome to watch at times with patreon. It was watchable and good quality, but lack of Quality of Life/ how bad it was on mobile kinda turned me off a little. I get why KOL needs to try to transition from vimeo, but there are def issues with patreon streaming, so I hope that's kept in mind while we try and find a way for this to work.

I didn’t even see the live stream. I didn’t even see the thumbnail show up here on Patreon..

One more thing: this is a calmer season, so it'll prob be alright to try out, but for the upcoming Winter Season with a whole lot of stuff people wanna see, some of these probs may be way more major. People might be tight if stuff gets in the way of jjk or frieren

For some reason I can't comment in the actual VOD. The live stream it's a horrible experience on mobile, but the VOD looks great and it loads insanely fast compared to Vimeo. For me is a worse experience in general since I'm mobile only . But I understand wanting to move away from Vimeo

i don't even know if i should write much more, because some users have already mentioned it. as someone who occasionally wears glasses, i don't really want to watch it on my smartphone because the screen is too small and i definitely prefer my laptop. i just feel more comfortable with it. i live in europe and there are just too many areas here where the internet connection is often crap. sometimes when the internet connection is bad, it's easier to rewind when the quality is a bit lower than with 1080p and it's faster too. i think this function is just too important because some users maybe/probably have children or family who keep you on your toes and sometimes just distract you a bit. it's the same with kol when brother or father of lightning come into his room LOL (you don't need the family to get distracted tbh he). i could only get 720p quality on my laptop, which is a problem because you want to watch kingu in the best quality possible. that's why control over the video player functions is so important. i haven't tried it on my pc, i can only watch kol's anime tonight streams on my laptop due to working hours. but yes, it's basically what @edmundobeng and other users have already mentioned in their posts. one more thing : i think no mini player is a problem too.

The Caped Baldy

your text is actually so well summarized that i probably didn't even need to write lol.

Edmund Obeng

Nah, as many voices for feedback is important! Only way it can drive the point.

The Caped Baldy

that's true but i meant that all your problems are my problems too lol.

Man no mini player is a serious issue for me... I use that ALL the dang time lol. I feel you brotha, all valid issues going on at the moment and agree with all of it really.

Emperor Raven

Excellent write up brother — ChatGPT couldn't do a better summary lmao! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I've yet to catch a new stream but watching this VOD now and it seems pretty solid so far (damn as soon as I said that the VOD dropped in quality and there's no media control to toggle it as far as I can see lol).
