Masters of the Air 1x09 Full Length Reaction

Have loved your reactions and I agree with you that band of brothers is the better series but I am also more likely to rewatch this one because it is shot so beautifully. I too would have liked to see more of Rosie's and Buck's journey back to the base in England. What Bel Powley's characters did in the war could have remained a mystery too as you said. Having fallen in love with the characters and the story I would have loved for the series to have been (a little) longer so we could have seen more of them. Overall I have loved the series and your reaction to it and will definitely be rewatching it in the near future.

I didnt like timing of the last two given they took the entire last year of the war (entire BoB timeline) but I understand the meat of the story of the 8th was paving the way for normandy by destroying the luftwaffe. Still a third episode in the final act for a full 10 would have been nice. This is also my favorite, but I have that family connection with bomber crews and the POWs making it more impactful personally.

I absolutely agree with all of your complaints. To me, ep 8 was the weakest. I am pretty sure there were some budget and Covid issues and the series went from 10 episodes to 9 - which would explain the strange pacing in the last 2-3 episodes. I also wish they had included more reunions at the end as well as real life info on more of the characters... but oh well, that's what google is for :D

Loved watching this series with you, been emotional. Watching the last episode made me think of the crash site of a B24 Liberator bomber that was heading home at the end of the war but sadly crashed up in the Highlands here in Scotland at a place called the Fairy Lochs near Gairloch that I took the time to visit a few years ago. The wreckage is still scattered about the area that the locals make sure no one touches and a plaque has the names of the crew and passengers killed. Is made even sadder by the fact that they were on their way home having survived the war but never got there!

Such a good series. Glad they lived to see liberation.

Did you notice the name of that Stalag they ended up in in Nuremberg? Stalag XIII. Wasn't that the Stalag that was home to the POWs of Hogan's Heroes? :)

Apparently Rosie was shot down once prior and made it back. So this was his second downed experience. That documentary bloody 100th is a must watch. Doesn’t even matter if you do a react vid on it. Just a good time. Rosie is incredible person. They had some interviews with the real people

I’m really glad I got to watch along with you and see you react. I’ve seen this series through three times now, I enjoyed it, I just wish it had one more episode. We covered the entire time of BoB in two episodes essentially. I unfortunately think that for me this is in third place of the three series because of the rushed ending and the glossing over of their journeys back home, even back to England. I hope that once you’ve watched The Pacific through your opinion of it will have climbed a little because it is another incredibly well made series. One final note is that I’d love to see you react to Downfall.

I did like the pacing of this one better than the last but that might just be because I was getting used to it. You might know the actor that plays George from Mamma Mia 2 as young Bill. His name is Josh Dylan.

i've always felt like this series deserved to be a 10 ep series like BoB and the pacific. i do think the final 3 episodes could've shown us so much more with 10 episodes. anyway, i watched it with ya shortly after it first came out and decided to rewatch it with ya again. i love the series, even if it's not perfect! many good things in life aren't perfect!
