There are no less than one million things I have to say about this episode, I just couldn't find an ounce of coherence in the wake of watching it. All I can say is...we're Richmond 'til we die! Stay tuned for follow up thoughts!

Ted Lasso 4x10 Full Length Reaction

We all knew it would end with Ted , once again as Assistant Manager Ted Lasso....we even saw that dynamic during the last game when Ted stood behind her!

I just realized that the last shot was a callback to the first three seasons, with a slight twist... The very first shot we see in S1 is a closeup of Rebecca - and it is also the last shot we see at the end of the season (after Ted spits up the sparkling water on her face). For S2, it was a closeup of Nate at the beginning and at the end (when he had fully transformed into evil Nate). S3 did it with Ted - the opening closeup is at the airport when he's dropping Henry off after spending six weeks with him, and the last closeup is him coaching Henry's team back in Kansas City. S4 did the same thing, but instead of a person, it was a nameplate - it opened on Ted's nametag as the Assistant Manager at Fowch's Fine Foods, and it ended with Ted's placard indicating he stepped down to be Assistant Manager of the women's team.

2026-10-12 03:00 I think when Ted said to Rebecca that he wanted to talk to her about the newly opened manager's position, he was referring to the women's team, because he had only just learned about Roy leaving for Chelsea after he walked in Rebecca's office. But I think he phrased it like that as his way of saying, "I would like to step down as head coach so I can spend more time with Henry, and my replacement should absolutely be Alice". Another thing that you might have missed was the underlying significance of Ted's going away gift to Alice - she asked if it was the same gift he had given her at the beginning of the season, and he said it was. Which means... Ted was prepared to relinquish the head coaching position from the very start of the season because he saw who she was, how much she cared about the team, and how much it mattered to her, and he believed it would better to have her take the top job so she would stay with the team than to see her leave. He appreciated her value not just as a coach but as a person from the very beginning. When she decided that she would stay before she opened the gift, he took the gift back because he viewed her willingness to work as his assistant as an opportunity for him to mentor her into the top job. But it was always his plan for her to succeed him, and I think they both got a lot out of that relationship.

Loved this season, hope they get renewed, the numbers suggest they should. I’m with you on season 3. I think they tried to do too much with that, look at some of the episode lengths on there, it seems the writing and editing got a lot more disciplined for season 4. I have to add the caveat that although for me season 3 is my least favourite season, I still loved it and “Sunflowers” is still my favourite single episode despite what I said previously. I also believe that it’s no longer about the men’s team going forward, by that I mean it doesn’t matter who the men’s manager is with Roy leaving for Chelsea, I don’t think we’ll see them in any future seasons, outside of occasional cameos from them. Also very smart to move Roy on considering how ridiculously busy Brett Goldstein is these days, he can still be a part of the main cast but it brings plausible explanations for if his role has to be reduced due to other commitments. I am confident he will still be there though as he seems to be very much part of the Bill Lawrence stable now. Finally I have to say what a revelation Tanya Reynolds is, I had heard of her but never really watched much of what she’d done before but I’ll be diving into her back catalogue that’s for certain. Truly as much as a stand out as Brett Goldstein was in season 1, if not more so and like Brett, I’m sure this is her launchpad into true superstardom

The only thing I want to say after re-watching this with you is…thank you for sharing your reactions with us. Your love for this show is so apparent, and it makes it even better. Cheers.

Thank you SO much for the best reaction. This show, it's a game changer (pun very much intended) and I love it more than anything. It just fills the soul and lets it soar. I sobbed and roared laughing and I'm still doing both of those things almost a week later. Alice, for me, is everything. Tanya is so stunning in this performance I struggle to articulate her brilliance. The Cat People shall hopefully reign supreme in Season 5 if we get one. They spare no attention to detail, no character goes unloved. 10/10, I think we shall see you for more. :)

I know this is late and an episode late also but I have not seen anyone else mention this. May died while dancing to Jump Around the same song Roy was dancing to when he hurt is knee.

I have yet to watch your reaction, so I don’t know if you have already talked about it, but in the episode which introduced Zelda as the CEO (or something) of a company called ‘Scorpio’ so that’s - in hindsight - an obvious pointer to her being a scorpion…
