The micro-bangs are supposedly because of damage to her hair. She was doing Cruel Intentions and Simply Irresistible at the same time, and they all required different hair colours. She's mocked her hair in this herself in the years since 😁

The only perplexing thing here is the brief appearance by the guy in the modern business suit since Angel had his soul put back long before that became the fashion, unless this was a recent Angelus killing

I have enjoyed your reactions. Trust your Joss Whedon insights. I think someone mentioned in your comment section that there is no such thing as a throw away line in this series. The writers do a pretty good job staying true to the storyline.
