Coolness comes from within 😎 (Also yes, I'm messing with my setup again, because I'm kooky like that. 😅 Thank you for your patience.)

Buffy 3x13 Full Length Reaction

I don't think they really hammed it up any. That scene with Buffy and Angel at the mansion really was probably similar to several other dramatic scenes we've seen with Buffy. Compare it to scenes from the Season 2 finale like the final argument between Buffy and Joyce, or to the scenes between Buffy and Angel just a few episodes ago in Amends and it's probably pretty similar. I think what makes it feel so cartoonish is that we don't see a build up, we just cut into the scene in the middle of it, at the height of emotion, plus of course the contrast.

I adore this one. The whole "A plot as the B plot" thing, love it. Any time we get any sort of concept episode I'm completely down for it. And to the degree that they purposely made it all a little extra cheesy to fit the overall style, I'm always completely down for that too. Very excited to check out this reaction later on this evening. See you then, J 🫡

This has always been on of my favorite episodes of the season its just fantastic

Exactly on top of how sudden the entire plot of it being the end of the world was, and the use of editing and music to heighten the drama then cutting back to Xander with his wacky strings (or silence at the end).

Funny little bit for me always is the reuse of footage early on in the episode, the shot by the fountain is the same from 1x06 with Owen walking away after Buffy ends things with him. Such a fun episode and agreed on modern television really missing these unique story moments

I think this is an underrated episode. I've always felt they hammed it up intentionally to poke fun at the show a little. We knew Xander was a virgin from the Teachers pet episode, and considering the drama we had when Buffy had sex with Angel, it's assumed that Xander and Cordelia never had sex.
