I have watched a number of reactors that have gone through the whole series. I have seen mixed reactions from longtime fans and new fans. I think it was a good adaptation. I understand the changes that were made and why. I think if you can avoid too many comparisons and just enjoy the show for what it is, I think you'll like it.

I've been waiting for your reaction on this series and you did not disappoint. Your giddiness of the bending was contagious and adorable. I fully agreed with your thoughts. Visually this is stunning with the exception of the cgi every once in awhile. Lighting was amazing. It looks like everybody learned from GOT lighting mistake.The children acting is one of the big complaints you hear from other reactors. Hopefully that gets better as the series continues. Overall it was a good start and much better than the movie. Can't wait to see your next one.

I find the adaptation very interesting but I couldn’t fully enjoy it. It’s easy to say that fans of the original show shouldn’t compare the two but that’s almost impossible to do. Obviously many people involved with this have done really good work but the main characters (except for Zuko and Iroh) don’t get me invested in them or the story like in the cartoon. Sokka still kinda works for me because he’s supposed to be a bit awkward. Aang’s actor—well, I hope he improves in the next season. But I was most disappointed with Katara because in her case it’s not just the acting, which didn’t help, but also the way the character is written. In the original she has real fire when angry and can be both kind and bossy. In this show she comes off as extremely bland without any emotional range, even when fighting.

I actually quite like Sokka and Zuko’s actors. I do really like Kataras actress in later episodes though. I usually always give a pass to younger actors especially when they don’t have a lot experience. They can’t always be lucky in getting super talented kids right off the bat. Even the Harry Potter kids weren’t the best at the that age. I still love the movies though.

I would agree with you on every point but a slight counter point is the kids while not GREAT! performances were LIGHTYEARS!!!! Better than the MNS Last Airbender movie acting and still delivered a entertaining performance if imperfect.

Oh for sure!!! The previous adaptation is literally a cautionary tale on EVERYTHING not to do 😂
