It's another wild time on our sexy, sunny 1990's TV recap show, MELR0210!

First up on Beverly Hills, 90210, the Daddy Wars reach new heights in "Parental Guidance Recommended." Originally airing back on February 3, 1993, this episode features Jim Walsh trying to save Dylan's trust from Jack by appealing to Dylan's kooky mom, Andrea going to a not-exciting Yale luncheon, Steve and David making small moves in the record industry, Brenda fantasizing about Dylan and Kelly, and Brandon going on a spending spree with his sky-high gambling winnings!

Then cross-town on Melrose Place, it's the wild-ass episode, "Non-Sexual Healing." Premiering October 10, 1994, this episode has Palmer Woodward leaving one of the funniest VHS goodbyes of all time, Billy wasting no time starting to date he and Alison's new D&D assistant, Michael so easily duping Sydney into divorce using his greasy sex appeal, and Jake dramatically hitting the road on his bike!

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The TV episodes covered will run in broadcast order unless otherwise specified.

Thanks so much for continuing to support the WHM Patreon! We know you have a lot of options when it comes to podcast entertainment and we're grateful you chose to spend some time with us. You're way cooler than Dylan McKay!Cover art by Felipe Sobreiro.

Y-E-S! Also I feel like this was the episode with wall to wall losing my religion during the Brenda madness

*stomping on bleachers* DAD-DY WARS! DAD-DY WARS! DAD-DY WARS!

Andrew, I’ll vouch for the Yonkers Frank Pepe’s. It seems like the same quality as the Danbury one. Worth your time, but it gets pretty busy and has shitty parking, so plan ahead.

Listening to WHM is my non-sexual healing

Chris got me with the "I'm going to be the next Brand Nubian."

I have a peaceful relationship with the divorced dad of my stepdurter, but sometimes I hear about what my wife had to put up with that first marriage, and I think...I could win a Daddy war. If necessary.

WarOfTheBees

I wonder...with Jack and Jim's fighting over Dylan's trust...can we call the trust the Daddy Tariff?

Still recovering from 8 Heads You guys should raffle off a 15 minute, balcony cigar session with Steve.

Any “Severance” viewers here? Man, I just want Jason Statham to give Lumon Corp. the full ‘Beekeeper’ treatment. They try messing with his head, and he just smirks, “I’ll give your head a severance—know what I mean?” Then he proceeds to wreck everyone, dismantle the entire operation, and leave the place in flames.

Pepe's is great, but may I recommend Modern as my top tier New Haven pizza location? You'll have to go to New Haven - it hasn't franchised like Pepe or Sally's - but it's worth the wait to get in.

"Non"? You're doing it wrong, my friend!

The real challenge is ranking every white clam pizza possible for true New Haven Pizza Supremacy

yelling in my car the entire time through the “wipe the squirt off the couch” bit, good LORD

Thanks to this show, I'm going to try to find a way to use the phrase "girthy ruby" in my everyday conversations. I do not know how. But I'll find a way.

Just to quickly comment on Steve asking wether Jane was german: The metric system is actually more widely used than you might think. It has been adapted by almost the entirety of the earth. There is only a small number of backwards countries that for some unknown reason use a version of the imperial system, like the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Ray

The funny part about that is we do use the metric system in America. Just not the public. Engineers, computer programmers, everybody in a professional position uses it for simplicity and necessity.

Nobody spoil the upcoming Walsh Contra episode

I recently watched the Roy Scheider film The Seven-Ups. (Really good '70s NYC crime movie with an amazing car chase.) And halfway through we learn that one of Roy's cops is named MINGO. So I had to shout MINGO in the Billy voice every time he was on screen for the rest of the movie.

We Hate Movies

Holy crap, I gotta re-watch The Seven-Ups now! - Andrew

Kemper

It's a good time even without the MINGO factor. It's currently on Prime.

We have another 90210-Sam Levinson connection popped up this episode. The character Tedro is also the name of the main antagonist from Sam's show The Idol. Sam must have really loved 90210 growing up.
