On this month’s edition of our Star Trek recap show, The Nexus, we’re chatting about a pretty cool episode of TOSTAS and a deceptively affective episode of TNG!

First up on TOSTAS, it’s the Klingon-heavy episode, “The Time Trap”! Originally airing on November 24, 1973, this adventure features a space Bermuda Triangle, a group of stranded space explorers that have zero tolerance for violence of all kinds, hilarious scenes of Klingons awkwardly lurking around the Enterprise, and a rare instance of the Federation working alongside the Klingons to save their hides!

Then across the Neutral Zone on TNG, it’s the Lwaxana Troi episode, “Half a Life.” Premiering back on May 6, 1991, this episode features, yes, a whole lot of Lwaxana Troi, a fantastic guest performance from the legendary David Ogden Stiers, a really dangerous science experiment conducted by Geordi and Data, and a surprise, pre-Ensign Ro appearance by Michelle Forbes!

The Nexus is a WHM podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support our family of shows—we couldn't do it without you! We know you have lots of options for pods and we're super-stoked you chose to spend some time with us—thanks again!

From memory there are a total of two good Lwaxana Troi episodes. This one and the DS9 episode where she’s stuck in a lift with Odo (which is better than it sounds!)

The reason stadium concerts dont sell out is because us millienals dont have enough money to pay huge ticket prices and fees for a garbage seat.

"I wanna fuck Odo" 🤣🤣🤣 Eric pretending to be horny old Laxwana had me dying. Yes she did indeed want to jump into that pile of goo. I know she has her haters and rightfully so, but I always liked her character. She's a throw back to the type of characters that would show up in TOS.

The meteor of garbage was a Futurama episode.

The Forsaken. Lwaxana has two DS9 episodes that I like, along with Fascination. Which is a silly episode that I enjoy mostly because of Alexander Siddig and Nana Visitor making out when they were already a couple off-set. I'm always OK with Trek being silly as long as it doesn't insult the characters or the audience (Profit and Lace). But THIS is the best Lwaxana episode.

I must say, the Hozier show at the Camden, NJ pavilion was packed in July, and it was even a rescheduled date. Further proof that the sapphics are the most loyal fanbase! 💕 Ticketmaster is a huge part of the problem, though. Not just all the insane fees, but just general functionality problems, like randomly logging you out after you've waited in the queue for ages. I ended up getting said Hozier tix on StubHub bc of that 😒

Brit

Luxwana absolutely wanted to fuck Odo on DS9. In his little goop bucket.

Put Eric in a Star Trek episode/movie so he can say "the sensors picked up a bunch of bullshit" again and we can have it be canon

I saw Cory Feldman and Limp Bizkit this past year. LP opened with Break Stuff and closed with Break Stuff. It was amazing.

One of the very first episodes, too. They also touch on long-lost Starfleet ships in a new SNW, but not to the extent Andrew is looking for.

I'm just gonna come out and say it. Your bodies are like produce at the grocery store. At least 8 people will touch you before you get to the retort. Just not in the way Eric hopes.
