“Wendy-I told you NEVER to interrupt me while I’m listening to We Hate Movies!” -Jack 🪓

I like to think calling it The Craven tier is a timely memorial to 10 years since Wes Craven passed (8/30/2015). Also, I don't believe anyone has asked - but is WHM Scaredy Cats live like a Moment show or pre-recorded? I get the impression it's pre-recorded but I wanted to ask just to know for sure. Looking forward to it either way!!!!!!

Zora McBride

YES! It was a great day when I saw you guys were doing this one--this movie's really special to me, right up there with Texas Chainsaw Massacre for films that utterly unnerved me upon first encounter. Shining in particular is so damn dense you can watch it hundreds and hundreds of times--I have, :P--trying to dissect the significance of every frame. Nothing like Mr. Kubrick. I think I'll rewatch it now and then revisit this new iteration. Love you guys, can't wait for season 16! Don't forget to wear the blue!

Wesley Hall

lol, hearing this was originally October 2019 is nutty… my father passed September Friday the 13th 2019 and you guys helped my family get through it. As dumb as they may sound. I wanted to gush to yall at the SF show on The Rock, but I didn’t want to kill the vibe 😂 love you guys so much ❤️

Lar

Oh man I am immediately going to upgrade to the new tier. So excited!!

WarOfTheBees

"How do you fuckers like a taste of the good life?"--Me to non-Patreon members whenever an episode is released outside of the paywall

Eren Keskin

"Great party, isn't it?" guy is Horace Derwent, former owner of the Overlook. The man getting a fellatio is his younger self. The bear man is Roger (dressed as a dog in the book and in the actual script). Sadly, Horace wants him to dress like that to humiliate and abuse him.

MarkNM

You know how sometimes understanding the story behind something can make it less creepy? This isn't one of those times. 🐻🤵‍♂️

MarkNM

Perhaps the most disturbing Comfort Movie in all of Cinema. It's a warm loving hug from a naked old lady corpse. Forevah and evah and evah.

Kyle Stephens

Man these are def voices that haven’t yet experienced COVID. There’s still joy in them!

We Hate Movies

So sorry for your loss, Wes. Thanks so much for listening and subscribing! - Andrew

Eren Keskin

Roger the dog man barks and yells at Danny " "I'll huff... and I'll puff... until Horace Derwent's all bloowwwwn down!!" then ending with a long howl which turns into "a scream of rage and pain." Oh, he also threatens to eat him starting with his... "plump little cock". *Clink-clink-clink-clink*

We Hate Movies

Good question, Busiris! All Scaredy Cats shows will be pre-recorded. - Andrew

MarkNM

Woof.

Eren Keskin

Catch him in bed with a dogman!

stephen sammartino

Welp looks like I’ll be giving 15 bucks a month now lol

Rose Esposito

I have adopted "Rose the Hat" as my bar trivia name, and I think I'm ready for a double rewatch. Should I wait for October??

Jason

Given the lore of Steve being to scared to watch scary movies and suggesting a replacement, I take it this new tier is going feature a lot of Copland rewatches.

Dustin Despres

Pretty funny in retrospect the Tom Holland Spider-Man voice is the same as Tony from The Shining. Danny's not here, Mr. Stark

Ryan Horn

Excited for the first After Dark the day after my birthday!

Darryl Bowen

Might of said this last time but Summer of 42 is one of my dad's favorite movies for some reason. Last time I visited I saw he had it on Blu-Ray. I watched his VHS copy over 20 yeats ago and was baffled. Love The Shining

Will Griffin

I have great memories of smoking some weed and listening to this episode around October 2019 as I walked around my college town and looked at Halloween decorations. Those were the days.

I.C. Weiner

This episode is obviously recorded over a half decade ago but I think it is funny that it is back to back weeks where you guys reference the hotel you guys performed at. I'm an attorney that practices in Southern California and I once had a trial in DTLA and stayed at that hotel so I could avoid morning traffic on the way to trial. I have never felt like I was in Mad Men more in my life. Anyway, everytime that hotel pops up in movies (including Eric's non-meme favorite Oppenheimer) I point at the screen in recognition. It is a cool hotel but I could definitely see a Shining-like event happening there if they ever had to shut down for an extended period

Woolfonmynoggin

Recently saw The Shining as an opera. It was a cross between book and movie adaption. The naked lady grabbing the child actually scared the crap out of me in the concert hall

Matt

By far my most listened to episode and Steve's "you are WAY too much on his side" gets me every time

Kureigu

Think I've already listened to this as the patreon episode but what the hell let's listen again.

Jonathan Lyons

Shut up and take my money. I don't know what it does, But I think I should get an executive producer credit as a patron.

Arthur martinez

I’m currently watching the tv version it’s on tubi!

Conor K

This is an all timer of an episode. I love it

Gone

At the risk of being an “um actually” knob, I think the video that kicked off the jokey trailer edits was “10 Things I Hate About Commandments.”
