On this month's Gleep Glossary, we're learning all about a real intergalactic jerk, Warmaster Tsvong Lah!

Could Tsavong Lah have been a leader of Orcs, what with his visage resembling a handsome orc? How many times did this guy try to foil the Solo kids? Do these creepy gleep-glop Yuuzhan Vong belong in the Star Wars universe? How gross is this dude's body horror body armor? And how far can you get into this episode before your brain starts to feel totally scrambled by all this gleep glop horse slop? PLUS: A whole lotta Godsmack talk!

Gleep Glossary: A Star Wars Story is a show where the guys try to honor the history and legacy of Star Wars characters, most of whom we've been told don't matter anymore!

Thank you for being so incredible and continuing to support this weird, wild adventure we're on! You make this all possible! We know you have lots of options when choosing which pods you listen to and we very much appreciate you carving out some time for us!

This is like if the dinner scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre was translated into a Gleep Glossary. Our hosts are all Marilyn Burns in various stages of losing her sanity.

"You don't just sit down and willy-nilly write something that annoying" 😂

Eric Gerbeck

Funniest thing about the Vong to me is that in that era of the EU they were planning on just having another Sith threat. George Lucas himself said no, you need something new and different. I get the Vong not "fitting" into SW, but you have to admit it is more interesting than "somehow, Palpatine returned." That's the problem with SW, the lore is so defined that anything new just seems out of place...but you really can't continue a story without doing something different.

Justin Blackwood

His name sounds like some pretentious new wine from some California celebrity

James C Harris

And this is where EU Star Wars list me. Honestly, the New Jedi Order was where if really fell apart. I do not hold the Thrawn trilogy to be that good, it reads like bad fan fiction to me

Matt

Orson Welles for Tsavong Lah wines "waaaaahhhhhhh.....the Yuuzhan Vong"

Tim Batson

Same here. I read a dozen or so of the EU and most just fall flat, especially the Thrawn trilogy.

Zora McBride

Gleep glops, gleep glops! What better way to endure the horror of American fascism!!? Love you guys, thanks as ever, time for a tall glass-a water and lols beyond the galaxy. stay safe out there, everybody. Erick, here's hoping the Pod-Squad car rides again!! #BringBackBIOOS

Mark Hamill actually voiced a commercial for the first book in this series; it was his return performing as Luke, albeit briefly. He didn't have to say any of the new character names: https://youtu.be/4QXo173nHjE

So I was smoking a jay and decided to read Tsavong Lah's Wookieepedia and I was thinking Morbius!

Convincing John

haven't listened yet but every time Eric plays the Chris Cabin Punishment Klaxon, I cry with laughter so I hope it happens this episode

thecaptainofdeath

I always thought the first book in this series was pretty good but they lost me around when Han replaced Chewie with the rat dude.

TJ Guiney

it might just be the warhammer 40K kick I’ve been on lately but the Yuuzan Vong sound like if you tossed the Tyranids and the forces of Chaos in a blender

Alex

The gang is correct correct and I do love when they're tortured

Deitrich Tennin

The Yuuzhan Vong arc is where I stopped reading these novels. It was too far from what I knew Star Wars to be

Max Stedt

I think this has inspired me to go back and read all these books again. It all reads like a bad 90's comic crossover but there's some really cool shit in there.

Kate

I love when they hate things

Mark D Myers

You want to read some bad star wars try those stories about Luke's great great great grandson. P.s I saw godsmack live once and they were pretty good.

Kassandra Hope

For the record...Godsmack was AWESOME live in concert....in 2000.... (Disturbed was also playing that night.)

Snooder87

It was also just really boring.

Jan

So he’s a master of war? Not peace? Force? Dark side? Was he a thug who walked to Tibet from Australia? And found war? Wtf!

Taylor

Great, now I have to go re-listen to old godsmack albums for my weekly hit of nostalgia. Thanks gang!

Sh'boom Sh'boom

I know nothing about the band and how they got their name, but I always assumed “Godsmack” was slang for really great heroin and not, you know, getting backhanded by a deity

Kureigu

My only experience of the Vong is in the cade skywalker comics, 100 years after the original trilogy was an interesting setting.
