“The flute makes it good” - Chris, on the music the actors perform

On this week’s episode, the 2025 Halloween Spooktacular comes to a close as we welcome our buds, Chelsea Rebecca and James A. Janisse from Dead Meat back to chat about the 2000, direct-to-video, horror sequel, Leprechaun in the Hood! How hilarious are the first five minutes of this movie? Why didn’t the filmmakers realize they needed to have Ice-T in every scene? Why don’t these guys just high-tail it to Vegas immediately after shooting Mack Daddy? How hard was it for this production to make the film feature length? And who among us wouldn’t want to hit a spliff with the Leprechaun? PLUS: How are we not disposing of the Leprechaun like we did Osama bin Laden?

Leprechaun in the Hood stars Warick Davis, Anthony Montgomery, Rashaan Nall, Red Grant, Dan Martin, Lobo Sebastian, Ivory Ocean, Jack Ing, Bebe Drake, and the legendary Ice-T as Mack Daddy; directed by Rob Spera.

Woo-hoo! My two favorite groups of creators come together yet again!

Eren Keskin

Reminded me of the Crichton Leprechaun. It could be a crackhead who got hooked to the wroong stuff.

Jonathan

Fuck Yes. This is the Leprachaun ive been waiting for.

Ray

Something about the subtitles using "er" made me quite uncomfortable lol like I'm pretty sure someone wrote those or the script was transferred over and in both cases, yikes 😅

Ray

He'd rename it to Lepstein Island

WarOfTheBees

Just because it's a part of podcasting that doesn't get mentioned enough: the editing on these episodes is great. Six people talking could very easily get confusing and you guys always keep it legible. I don't know if it's that you don't talk over each other or if it's just in the editing...but if any other podcast had six people in mic it'd be a cacaphony, you guys knock it out of the park every time. Great work!

Infinite Terror

And a fuckin Placebo reference! Brian Molko, the one time I saw Placebo (opening for Stabbing Westward): "This is the 666th show on the tour. The Devil's on the guest list and I'm on steroids!"

Robert Walton

TriMark: The Sorny and Panaphonix of movie studios

WarOfTheBees

"My movie isn't being featured in wide release, but I always distribute with...Malk?"

Sara Syd

OF COURSE Ice-T didn't go Back to the Hood. This came out like 6-7 months before he joined SVU. He was in a Law & Order franchise by the time they went Back to the Hood. (Edit: Excuse me, 2 tha Hood)

John Locke

Dammit. Now I need to watch another one of these movies to fully appreciate the episode. "Thanks" to this podcast I will now be a Leprechaun completionist. Right? Or was are there still more?

WarOfTheBees

They're like Skarsgaard siblings, there's always another one to find

MarkNM

TriMark: We may also make styrofoam cups.

MarkNM

"I see ye crave gold as well, me swollen boyo. But my gold be not spray painted PVC."

Kevin Lynch

I always Mandela Effect the title as “Leprechaun In Da Hood”

Ray

I imagine their improv training helps a lot in not interrupting each other. But you're totally right. It's impressive every time.

Tala Hobballah

We Hate Movies & Dead Meat Presents : Bride of Leprechaun Son of Leprechaun Rise of the Son of Leprechaun

Busiris

This is one of the worst movies I've watched for the show in quite a while, which is why I am really excited to listen to the episode tonight.

I.C. Weiner

To put Andrew's mind at rest: if you've ever matched me in Marvel Snap! I was definitely cranking it during the game.

RonnieSoak

Last time I made an attempt to watch all'em Lep movies this one was the last one I was able to finish. I couldn't stomach Back 2 Tha Hood and turned it off after 15 minutes. I remembered this one more fondly than it played for me this time. Probably because I only thougt back to the Ice-T scenes. As always: Great show! Please continue this crazy ride next year. I will survive Back 2 if you do. FYI: Fudge ( I always will rember his name. Thanks Andrew) has a line about the Women the Zombie Fly Girls bring to him. "I think he's fucking them to death." Because none of them are seen again. I know you didn't want to know that, but you're welcome.

Convincing John

the giggling glee the Dead Meat crew have when sharing their love of these movies reminds me of how i feel when sharing Swamp Thing the live action series from 1990, it's the same demented "yes, it's horrible (it's perfect)" energy when i inflict that show on friends (also I think Andrew Jupin has mentioned watching it???)

Convincing John

i always wonder how they don't interrupt each other and how they know when to end a bit and get back to the recap, it's so profesh

Ed Harris

Fantastic as always. Love the chemistry between you guys and the Dead Meat crew.

Jonathan Lyons

When they finish this series, I'm gonna edit the episodes together and tell people this was endgame. Because it's the best crossover I've ever seen. James and Chelsea are on their way to becoming horror icons (and honestly, they already are to me) Fantastic episode as always

Chris

Rap Snacks are ubiquitous in the gas stations and convenience stores around me, was surprised to hear they're flying under the gang's radar. Also the Leprechaun N64 game should be called Leprekart.

Daryl Williams

In George Saunders novel, Lincoln in the Bardo. A ghost dies while having sex and comes back in the after life naked with a huge eternal boner.

Odin Blaine

This was fun, always love the Leprechaun / Dead Meat episodes. I went through all of them not too long ago and will say this is the worst one other than Origins which is def the bottom of the barrel

Sonya Ballantyne

I was cackling at the mention of the Placebo lyric.

D Arthur

I’m sorry guys Back to the Hood is going to require a Black cohost along with James & Chelsea to make the conversation less racist bc the conversation can’t not be racist. I’m Black and me talking about the movie sounds racist 🤣

Lar

Describing James & Chelsea as your Hob Gadling of Leprechaun is genuinely so funny, Steve.

Lar

Might be hard to coordinate but they could try and get Angelica to guest.

MANTE IV

Wayne learned to speak Cantonese to Cassandra. Not Mandarin.
