Over the past few years I went through numerous versions of classic Christmas/holiday stories - A Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker primarily. My husband and I started a DJ business on the side with our friends in 2020. It started as just the guys agreeing to do it for my daughter’s high school graduation party, and then of course it got cancelled. People started asking us to play here and there for parties, and here we are almost 6 years later having done over 30 weddings and a bunch of parties. We ALWAYS ask for must have as well as do not play songs, and we make sure we have the right versions. You’re right, Andrew, it’s so important! My one suggestion is PLEASE do not give your DJ a playlist for the entire event. Give your likes and dislikes, and then let them play to the crowd and what’s keeping people on the dance floor after that. I can tell you from experience that there’s nothing more frustrating than being screamed at by drunk people that the music sucks because they don’t like what the bride and groom chose. 😂
