“All I can think of, is this movie doesn’t know what it’s doing…” - Eric

On our final episode of the year, we’re joining Jamie Lee Curtis and David Copperfield aboard the… Terror Train! Is this one of the better New Year’s Eve-set horror movies or… not so much? How incredible is Jamie Lee, even in this level of horror dreck? Is Hart Bochner’s character diddling dead bodies? Is renting a party train a feasible means of entertainment these days? And why are they dressed up for Halloween on New Year’s Eve? PLUS: Way, way too much close-up magic here, folks!

Terror Train stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Ben Johnson, Hart Bochner, Derek McKinnon, Sandee Currie, Timothy Webber, Anthony Sherwood, Vanity, Joy Boushel, and David Copperfield as The Magician; directed by Roger Spottiswoode.

The terror train, Last stop.... Death ☠️

Right before Hart Bochner dies, you could hear him say, “Kenny, boobie…”

Luckily Jamie Lee had seen Sidney Lumet's The Pawnbroker, and so knew that a receipt spike can be used on people.

This thing was slower than a Soviet AA20... babe. Train nerds are laughing their tits off right now.

At the end of the day, Horror Express chugs ahead of the Terror Train. However, only 3 years later, Jamie Lee would again be on a train, on New Year's Eve, in a costume, in a situation that was slightly less perilous but definitely featured more Dan Aykroyd blackface.

Francis

2025 was a terror train.

I’d watch Jamie Lee Curtis stand in front of a tv test pattern for hours. I’d love if the guys would cover her in the remake of Freaky Friday and or Freakier Friday .

This summer, you will need exact change for... THE TERROR TRAIN There is no emergency stop when riding... THE TERROR TRAIN Everyone is smelly, sweaty, and getting too close on... THE TERROR TRAIN

I think it's been mentioned on the pod before but Road Games from 1981 is some good Jamie Lee from this era. There's also Stacy Keach and some decent dog acting if I remember correctly. Thanks for all the awesome content and laughs this year, especially the horror/trash. It melts my icy Canadian heart. Cheers!

I’ve taken an overnight Amtrak to Florida a few times in a sleeper car (roomette) - it’s not *terrible*, definitely better than coach, you just have to be okay with being really cramped and probably not getting a decent amount of sleep. For the most part it’s just you and whoever you share the space with and the train car attendant (who only bothers you for meals and to convert the beds) which is kinda nice.

While I haven't watched the Tubi remake of Terror Train, I DO know that they address an issue mentioned in this episode - it takes place during Halloween, not New Years Eve. So the costumes make sense now! I also have not seen the sequel that *literally* came out two months after the remake came out, lmao.

Watch_N_Rewatch

I honestly don't remember the movie that well, but I have a memory of the ending being a wet, nasty fart that is scoff worthy

It's the end of the line for everyone on... THE TERROR TRAIN

You will be crushed like a penny on the tracks by...THE TERROR TRAIN Statistically speaking, the unsafest way to travel is...THE TERROR TRAIN You'll know you can't You'll know you can't You'll know you can't survive...THE TERROR TRAIN

Of course, we have dead bodies in the bathroom. We’re not Amtrak!

Tim O'

They're illusions, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money.

David Copperfield looked absolutely disgusting in this movie, my lord. Also, like Andrew, Copperfield was nowhere near as prominent a figure in my life as the other guys. But my god he looked terrible. I thought he was the killer in the start of the movie with black hair, and I was thinking “ya that first guy was very strange looking, seems like they’re trying to cover him up a little as the gross Magician.”

Jason

I lived at the end of the 6 line. Like Steve, I too fell asleep on trips home. Well, "asleep" is probably doing a lot of heavy lifting when in reality it was more accurate to say I passed out. From booze.

Enrico Palazzo

I was expecting an “Oh my god they killed Kenny!”

Tim Batson

More New York talk. MORE!!!

John Locke

Never heard of this film and I watched it this morning. Dear God did it bore me.

John Locke

He looked like a damn corpse.
