Hey gang, you've seen (or heard) our latest Scaredy Cats episode where we talked all about 28 Years Later and now it's time for you, the kick-ass, Top Tier Craven supporter, to vote for your next edition of the show!

Like we mentioned at the end of the 28 Years Later episode, the film we cover for Scaredy Cats #3 is going to come down to a battle for Russell Crowe's soul as you all vote to have us cover either 2023's The Pope's Exorcist, directed by Julius Avery, or 2024's The Exorcism, directed by Joshua John Miller.

The first film has Russell Crowe playing an exorcist who's sent by the Pope to conduct an exorcism on a boy in Spain that leads to him unraveling some insane Vatican secret or some such. The second film sees Russell Crowe cast as an actor in the 1970's who's portraying an exorcist while filming a barely-disguised fake version of Friedkin's classic film who, wouldn't you guess, becomes possessed himself—maybe!

Both films have Crowe really swinging for the fences!

So which Crowe will we see on Scaredy Cats #3?

YOU decide, y'all!

Cast your vote now and weigh in!

Next time can we have some Better movies on the pole like, Nosferatu or something? 😅

Chicago Pope needs exorcism from demon known as Sausage Claus

When The Pope's Exorcist was coming out it had NBA in game promotion. And one announcer saw what he was about to read, read the copy for The Pope's Exorcist and then sighed and said, "I guess I'll just read anything they put in front of me." He clearly thought the movie was about the Pope receiving and exorcism and that broadcasting moment will live rent free in my head the rest of my life

Ryan Spearman

That choice where both movies are undeniably bad.

Tim O'

Before I vote and see the results, I'm gonna guess that the people are gonna overwhelmingly vote for the one where Russell Crowe puts on sunglasses and rides a Vespa

Fardeen Chowdhury

Forget Benoit Blanc, we need a whole series of movies following Russell Crowe doing exorcisms and riding Vespas in exotic locales

Amanda P

Can we throw in “Unhinged” and make it an unofficial Crowe month?

Frank Grimes

Having seen both, Pope's Exorcist is just a better film overall. The Exorcism is interesting in theory, but execution is pretty meh.

Conrad Silas

Pope's Exorcist, if only for CUCKOO!

Jan

A ferrari Vespa.

Local Man Loses Pants, Life (LMLPL)

The Pope's Exorcist in a walkover. I had totally forgotten about "The Exorcism" but now I remember that POS. Filmed on a single shitty set if I recall. Ugh.

oldmetalpossum

I had way too much fun watching Pope's Exorcist. it's dumb as hell but I prefer that to the rigid holier than thou grifter bullshit of that Conjuring series, even if the latter has better costuming

oldmetalpossum

also, I hope the WWE/Pope's Exorcist crossover gets a mention for how fumb it was

Adam Ray

No debate for me here. I tried watching The Exorcism twice and fell asleep both times. Pope's Exorcist is fucking insane and would make a fantastic episode.

Ryan Horn

FYI. Both on Hulu

RJ Cunningham

I was able to watch Pope's Exorcist with a bit of a grin. Have not seen The Exorcism so with all data gathered, Pope's Exorcist it is

Lar

Pope’s exorcist sweep let’s go!!! That movie was actually genuinely fun and kinda weird. The Exorcism was fine? I mean the cinematography was cool but it was kinda weird they kept winking at the audience about what movie was being remade.

Busiris

I vote overwhelmingly towards the movie that has a Franco Nero supporting role.

Tony King

FYI for anyone in the UK. Pope's Exorcist is nowhere free, and The Exorcism is on Shudder.

Jessica M

Til there's two of these.

Nicholas Knecht

It's the Russell Crowe Def Exorcism Jam. With special guests Kurt Russell, Pope Leo, and Constantine, with musical guest Slipknot. It's guaranteed to be a Devil of a time.

Chris

I saw the headline and thought we were talking Ken Russell. I was so stoked for you to cover Lair of the White Worm!

Barista Bran

It's like Godzilla: whoever wins, we lose.
