On this month's wild-ass MELR0210, we're talking a double-dose of Melrose Place as we cover the 90-minute, sweeps-week episode, "They Shoot Mothers, Don't They?"!

Originally airing back on January 16, 1995, this episode was clearly to prove to the network that this show could get crazier and crazier and folks will tune in, in droves! We've got Alison's relationship with professional QB Terry Parsons, her rehab buddy, flaming out spectacularly after he botches "the big game." We've also got Peter and Caitlin's plan to takeover D&D imploding thanks to Amanda and Mike Mancini. Jo is the titular mother who gets shot in the back by Reed's father while trying to re-abduct her deceased (on-paper) baby, of course. Oh, and the show starts teeing up Sydney joining a cult, which can't miss, right? Hell yeah, this show rules.

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The episodes covered will run in broadcast order unless otherwise specified.

Thanks so much for continuing to support the WHM Patreon! We know you have a lot of options when it comes to podcast entertainment and we're grateful you chose to spend some time with us. You're way cooler than Dylan McKay!Cover art by Felipe Sobreiro.

Just a fyi, meetings for AA are classified as open and closed. Open is for anyone and closed is for alcoholics only. There are also support group meetings only for friends and family of alcoholics. Just wanted to clean that up even though the episode is bonkers

Dave S

Just maybe educate a bit before making statements on stuff you dont know about it, it hit a bit too close to home some of the conversation you had.

Ray

Clapping watching Kimberly get knocked the fuck out 🤣

Emil Svensson

If you're looking for conversations between people who educate themselves before speaking then this might not be the gang for you (I mean that respectfully; I enjoy hearing them ramble on about things out of their wheelhouse). Their hearts are in the right place, they're good people, but they'll be the first to acknowledge their ignorance (as we all should). They say similarly uneducated things about other topics all the dang time that you probably don't notice, but since this one is close to your heart (which I understand), it's the one that sticks out to you. I have similar subjects that I'd probably be touchy about, too, and I'm not saying that I wouldn't react similarly to you. Just that this is a group of people that the record shows says a lot of out of pocket things about things they themselves admit they're ignorant about. Up to the individual listener if that's acceptable or not, because it's unlikely to change this long into their careers.

Dave S

Says the dude policing me all to shit. . Ok buddy im done

Dave S

TL:DR: Ignorance is bliss

Dave S

And im done after this month read up on the patreon overlords, they all hate you and as a Canadian im ripping the cord

Chris

Hi Dave, your first comment was completely reasonable and nobody criticized it at all and then you made yourself mad at nothing and had some kind of meltdown. Maybe log off for a bit

Ray

Dave S

Hey Chris, Emil sure had a bunch to say. Have a good one

We Hate Movies

Paul DeCoursey-Clark

Oh lordy I love these Melro210s. I love all the shows, but honestly I may laugh harder at these than anything else. The plots are just so insane.

Troy Thompson

Whenever I do a rewatch of the series, I play that punch like 20 times

RonnieSoak

The fake pop-punk at the beginning sounded very similar to the song that replaced Time of my Life on 90210 in the Ice-Skating episode. (Which incidently wasn't removed from the clip-show) Also, I think this is the first time Mancini was successful in punching someone, because so far he always missed and then got his ass handed to him. Great stuff. I am a fan. And this is a favorite.

Chris

Speaking of The Pitt: if you don’t know who Katherine LaNasa (Nurse Dana) is married to, look it up to have your mind blown by a bit of MELR0210 synergy. Then look up her exes if you want ti go through the Vince McMahon meme in real time

D Arthur

Holy smokes, her entire marriage history took me by surprise.

Billie Jackson

Seven seasons? That's going to be so much craziness. Yay!

Billie Jackson

Not to be confused with the fmc of Bob Crane's movie The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz.
