It's our monthly flashback to sexy, sunny 1990's Los Angeles on MELR0210 and we're talking about two SAUCY episodes of primetime TV nostalgia!

First up on Beverly Hills, 90210, we're talking about another summer vacation episode with "The Girl from New York City." First airing back on September 15, 1993, this episode features Dylan's triumphant return to the Beverly Hills, Donna and Kelly pulling a Three's Company at the new apartment with David dodging Donna's mom, twenty seconds of Andrea practicing giving injections at the Peach Pit lunch counter, Brandon and Steve fighting over a babe while playing a seemingly endless series of tennis matches, and Brenda being an obnoxious wet blanket at college...again!

Then, across town on Melrose Place, it's the outrageous episode, "Another Perfect Day in Hell"! Premiering on January 23, 1995, this episode has Kimberly making a big deal about having to take a psychological evaluation at work and threatening Matt over it, Alison dealing with an incredibly awkward visit from her sister, Amanda getting a pretty serious diagnosis from Michael who she doesn't believe, and Sidney becoming more involved in this cult while Nikki trashes Shooters and tries to destroy the lives of our beloved Melrose Place tenants!

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The episodes covered will run in broadcast order unless otherwise specified.

I've never heard of the Olivia Tremor Control before today. I'm listening to them at work and loving it. Thank you Chris!

Tim O'

I'm very excited for him to be a recurring character on this show

Don't think we didn't get that Elephant 6 joke, Cabin!

Jessica M

Matt is like the Ann (of Arrested Development) of this show.

WarOfTheBees

You either die a New Yorker or live long enough to see yourself move to the suburbs. Or something like that...

Tim O'

A totally normal and non-sinister thing to call someone!

Even if you don’t end up watching “Skeleton Man”, it’s worth seeking out the trailer. It’s nothing but explosions and arrow deaths.

Rose Esposito

Steve out here using Excel like Kelly Rowland in the "Dilemma" video amirite folks

TJ Guiney

god I can't wait to be hearing more from Stubbs in future episodes

Joe Gunch

Cheers to Steve using Excel to organize his show notes, and Jeers to the rest of the WHM crew for dunking on him about it. Budgets, DVD collection lists, even ranking your favorite Bath and Body Works scents... Excel does it ALL. P.S.- I don't think I've heard the term 'sweeping distance' in about 25 years.

Tim Batson

Never in a million years would I have guessed 'Yakima Fucking' would end up on the Melro bingo card 😂

"I have a new job at the Polyphonic Spree" really made me laugh

WarOfTheBees

Kind of a shame 90210 was off TV by the time it happened because I would love to have seen how they handled 9/11

Joe Price

Pretty sure the guy from the Seinfeld episode with the dog that bites Elaine is the same actor who played the most upsetting character in all of film, Otis from Henry portrait of a serial killer

Busiris

Amanda is such a detestable character but even I have to feel sorry for her because the last 3 or 4 episodes have had her: getting a flu so bad she was seeing ghosts, drugged by a psycho doctor, and now a cancer diagnosis. Not even sure how it could get worse for her in the next episode but I'm sure I'll find out, lmao.

Him?

I was in Academic Decathlon for two years and there were some people in there doing things. To the extent that they nearly included me, which has otherwise literally never happened. There was a lot of study naked and see where things go in that program.

I Have Been Floated by that reference, despite it not being Black Foliage specific.
