Originally streamed May 19, 2026It's the May edition of our monthly AMA-style chat show, WHM After Dark!

We had another rocking time answering Qs from our Top Tier Patreon supporters this month! On this stream, we answered questions about some of our biggest mind-blowing movie experiences, who we'd want to split mozzarella sticks with at a 1991 Planet Hollywood, which films we'd put in an all-NYC movie month, some of our favorite "bad" comfort films, our favorite summer time activities, our favorite TV show endings, and more!

WHM After Dark is a chat show where we answer questions asked by YOU, the Patreon supporter! As always, we thank you all so much for being the totally awesome supporters you all continue to be, we wouldn't be able to do this without you all!

With the summer movie season gearing up and Memorial Day weekend around the corner, do any (4) of you have a favorite experience of a past summer blockbuster seeing on the big screen from years past seared in your brain? Mine was THE ROCKETEER at age 7 in 70mm in 1991. And, perhaps a BBQ recipe to share? --Cody from Kenosha, WI

Harry Squier

Andrew who are you pulling for to win the Walter Cup?

Okay so the Joey Pants Cameo was an all-timer... if each of you had a choice for the next Cameo but could only choose another Sopranos actor (yes I know Joey Pants is not just the guy from Sopranos), who would you choose? Chris from Central Jersey

With Pride Month coming up, what are your favourite LGBTQIA+ related (theme, cast, crew, whatever) movies? Not a question - and for everyone in the comments, too - I saw Roqia at our local horror festival (Dundead) and it's a great, fascinating take on the exorcism genre that deserves your attention.

Hey, guys. My girlfriend of 2 years passed away last week, and I've been going through the emotions that go with that. She was 27 and passed in her sleep. Do you have any advice on how to handle grief in this time? Thank you for listening and sending my love to you all

I.C. Weiner

Steve mentioned how much he doesn't like the Amanda cancer storyline because it hits too close to home. Previously you guys have skipped some 90210/Melrose Place episodes, would you ever skip episodes of Melrose Place because of certain storylines or are there now too many important aspects setting up future events to skip?

Busiris

If you had free reign to direct a movie of any existing franchise, which one would it be? What would you want *that* movie to be in terms of characters/story/etc - i.e. familiar comfort entertainment or subverting expectations with a radical new take on the material? Bringing back familiar faces and actors or a whole new cast?

Andrew

Would you be willing to change the VHS trailer game, so the winner could chose to redo an old episode or chose to do a sequel to an old episode? Andrew in Jersey City

Ryan Horn

Need some physical media recommendations. Arrow, criterion… etc. Ordered Scanner Cop this past weekend mostly for your commentary.

Jon Corra

He cool guys, this question is about drive-in theaters. During the pandemic, I know you all did at least one event at a drive-in theater. What are your thoughts on drive-ins as a whole. I like the idea of them, but I don’t love the execution. For instance, two years ago I went to go see Furiosa. The drive-in was a rare dual screen drive-in. Well it was cool. The execution was poor. Though we were watching Furiosa, we were getting the audio for the latest Garfield movie. Then, a bunch of bats started circling above my car. I was curious at first if I had just paid extra for this immersive feature, but then just left. What are your thoughts on drive-ins?

Max Juke

If your pets had an inner monologue a la Homeward Bound or Look Who’s Talking Now, what actor would provide the voice?

Billie Jackson

Which was the more upsetting or less well made movie, Blame It On Rio or My Father the Hero?

Billie Jackson

What are some of the best deaths or comeuppances for characters in movies?

Billie Jackson

Worst movies featuring TOS or TNG actors? Is there an odder pairing than Roddenberry and Roger Vadim?

Billie Jackson

Was Dino DeLaurentis ever involved in making a good movie?

Daniel

Anybody excited for James Cameron entering his Lucas remastering/ruining shit phase? 🤢 (Aliens being re-released as 3D)

Adam

Steve/Andrew - Not too worried about the Cavs, so would you rather play the Thunder or Spurs?

Felipe Sobreiro

Outside of the live shows, what are your expectations for the Las Vegas trip? Have you guys ever been there before?

Jessica M

Who are some of your favorite movie composers working right now and what musical artist that hasn't done so already do you think would make a banger score?

DJ Funk

What are some first-movie-dates you had? For instance, my ex and I, on our first solo date, saw the movie "Dick" with Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams, with Dan Hedaya as the titular "Dick".

Barista Bran

Any of you guys excited for Boots Riley's new movie? Would love a WLM or possibly WHM for Sorry to Bother You. Really love that one. Brandon- Naperville, IL

Kemper

What are some TV shows that you thought really nailed their finales and what are some ones you think totally shit the bed?

David Wright

Hi, what's the theme song for after dark? It's wonderful!

DJ Funk

Thanks for A-ing my Q!!!

Jack Parisi

Is anyone watching Widow’s Bay?

Jon Corra

Damn. Chris looking sharp! 🎉

XTINABE

So sad I missed it live! 😭🩷

Montserrat Morales

First movie date was some sylvester Stallone movie in like 2003, was assaulted by tongue at the credits and I was upset that we were both so nervous I didn't even pay attention to the movie I paid for ... Don't get me started on the time I saw click in theaters😬😑

Billie Jackson

Castration Movie 1 and 2 are both v good, and part 3 is probably due out in the not too distant future. I Saw the TV Glow was too close to my own life experience, including the ending, not to be an extremely emotional watch, but is great. Am looking forward to Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma from the same filmmaker.

Billie Jackson

Jackie Chan would be good at PH, as long as nothing about his daughter came up.

Billie Jackson

Accidentally prevents Geena Davis from making Transylvania 6-5000, she never meets Jeff Goldblum, doesn't appear in The Fly, cinema history is changed.
