On this edition of Too Old For This Shit, Steve and Andrew are breaking down the fantastic second season of Daredevil: Born Again!

Airing weekly over the past few months, and wrapping up a couple weeks ago, Daredevil: Born Again continues to be one of the best Marvel properties out there! It's fantastic to see how the cast is all still super-hyped to be involved in the project, including Charlie Cox as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, a more-to-do-this-season Deborah Ann Woll, a never-better Vincent D'Onofrio, and a real break-out turn from Michael Gandolfini! We've also got a very welcome appearance by the great Matthew Lillard as CIA creep, Mr. Charles, a whole lotta fantastic Bullseye shenanigans, a really violent charity boxing match, several horrific murders, and yes, the fantastic returns of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage!

Daredevil: Born Again stars Charlie Cox, Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Nikki M. James, Michael Gandolfini, Zabryna Guevara, Clark Johnson, Deborah Ann Woll, Genneya Walton, Wilson Bethel, Krysten Ritter, Hamish Allan-Headley, Mike Colter, Matthew Lillard, Lili Taylor, Dierdre Lovejoy, and Vincent D'Onofrio as Mayor Wilson Fisk.

We hope you enjoy Too Old For This Shit! Thanks so much for being the kick-ass supporters that you all are! The Daredevil podcast episodes that are also on Disney+ are a lot of fun! As per usual, each episode features the actors that were the focus of that week’s show and the show creators. Lots of Vincent D’Onofrio gold!

Also, I just watched the third season of Jessica Jones before the new DD season started. It’s good, but when they initially announced all those Marvel Netflix shows getting canceled, I forgot that they still had some more trickling out, so that’s like seven or eight years old already.

Dude, today I learned there was a third season of Jessica Jones. I gotta go back and just watch it all straight through. I thought there were only two! - Andrew

The only thing from that run of Netflix shows that I didn’t watch was season 2 of Iron Fist. Cage season 2 was fine, but again suffered from having too many episodes.

Season finale was FANTASTIC. Really loved it after being somewhat disappointed with One Last Kill.

Bryn

Season 2 of Cage also didn't have all the incredible music of the first season.

It's a nice offbeat switch to have the two-hander pod with Steve and Andrew. Can't wait for TOO YOUNG FOR THIS SHIT where Cabin and Szyszka go through season 83 of NCIS.

I agree with y’all that the weekly release schedule is fun and gives me something to look forward to. I’ve loved watching weekly releases the last two hears for stuff like Severance, the Pitt, DDBA, etc and it makes me sad when I see folks who literally won’t watch a show unless it comes out all at once for binging bc of some excuse like “I have a job and can’t watch it once a week” which…bro most of us do??? What do you mean??? But yeah I’ve loved joining the convo each week online for these shows, it’s great.

Lar

I still haven’t watched the majority of those Netflix marvel shows bc those 13 episode seasons times like 6 is overwhelming. It took me years to finally watch daredevil 3, defenders, and the 2 punisher seasons. And I skipped the majority of Jessica jones, Luke cage, and iron fist to do it.

Lar

I feel like they’ll just continue their bit with Taylor Sheridan shows and start covering those new Yellowstone spinoffs haha.

Josh

It's too bad the MCU didn't turn out in such a way to have Daredevil and Black Widow be a thing, since Matt and Nat were a big deal in the comics. Cox and Scarjo would have killed it.

I can’t believe he’s gabagone 😢

Visionquest will probably have way less Matthew Modine climbing a wall with pegs, getting nosebleeds, wrestling and early Madonna appearances than the version I remember from back in the day, but will hopefully be good in spite of that.

Billie Jackson

Cage season three really ends on a note that could benefit from a follow up, and really clashes with the (granted completely different universe) comic version of Cage currently being mayor of NYC.

Billie Jackson

Cage takes over from Mariah as what is essentially the head of organized crime in Harlem at the end of season three. Due to being tired of all the truly terrible people who have been in charge up to that point. Which is kinda what Daredevil did in comics for a little while years ago. How he got from that to working overseas for the CIA idk.

This was a great episode! I kinda liked the just pair. It was a little more in depth and the jokes could breath a bit more. Thanks!

I can fix the Danny Rand/Iron Fist problem real easy: Make Danny Rand a trustafarian himbo. Just a dizzy sun-and-surf guy who also happened to get Iron Fist powers. Team him up with an actual Asian actor Iron Fist and do like a Green Hornet thing where he's not really the star. And then finally give me my goddamn Iron Fist/Luke Cage buddy cop Heroes for Hire show.

For whatever reason, I decided to throw on the Agatha All Along show. It’s okayish??
