It's the May edition of our sexy, sunny, So-Cal-set TV-in-the-'90s recap show, MELR0210!

First up on Beverly Hills, 90210, Brenda returns home in disgrace in "Little Fish"! Originally airing September 22, 1993, this episode has, yes, Brenda returning to Beverly Hills after dropping out of school in Minnesota, Steve Sanders being mistaken for a genius after cheating on an aptitude test, Dylan and Brenda fishing off a pier, Andrea writing a hit piece on the Peach Pit for the college newspaper, Brandon possibly joining the K.E.G. frat, and David and Donna auditioning for the radio station!

Then, across the 10 over at Melrose Place, it's an episode with an excellent ending, "Boxing Sydney"! Premiering on February 6, 1995, this episode has Amanda stupidly confiding in Billy about her diagnosis and he tells Alison immediately, Kimberly and Matt going tête-à-tête at the hospital over her psychological evaluation and the hate crime that succeeded it, Alison saying Amanda as a "Saddam Hussein"-style of management, and Sydney going on a "retreat" with Martin's cult where things get... weird.

YES! M-I-N-G-O! M-I-N-G-O! M-I-N-G-O, AND MINGO IS MY NAME-O! Also, Brandon's haircut this season can go fuck itself sky-high 😂 also pt. 2, thanks for the shout out Steve! 🤪

I nearly dropped my work bag when Steve said Matthew Porretta. How am I not going to be picturing Alan Wake this whole time now!?

WarOfTheBees

I have waited five long years for the guys to talk about Brenda's insane peanut butter and jelly technique.

MV

i remember another version from west side story: "sperm to worm" 🐛

Dan Hillen

Steve "Peepers" Sanders

Dr. Albert Beck

I'm a 50/50 person and just person. I have a pb&j sandwich 4 times a week for lunch.

James

That pb&j combo that Eric mentioned is still around. It’s called Goober and it was probably named in honor of Mark Wahlberg‘s friend.

Tyler The Destroyer

Holy shit all this college crap I’m so glad I never have to go near it again

johnny stocker

Yeah, I started college in Fall '93 the exact same year as these guys and I registered by touch tone phone too (at Brenda's alma mater for 5 seconds the University of Minnesota no less) So I'm not exactly sure where they got this standing in line on the quad stuff for that era.

Tyler The Destroyer

I remember registering for college classes, using a Internet form, which was a fucking nightmare Registration began at 5 AM Literally, I remember refreshing the page at 5:02 And every single class on the first 15 pages out of 100 pages was filled up Seniors and juniors got to go first Then sophomores and then finally freshman I remember when I was a senior I had to wake up at 3 AM to fucking register. It was so goddamn stupid Everyone jumping through hoops to spend money on classes, they’re not really gonna need to get a piece of paper that doesn’t get me a job Instead just a ton of debt I wanted to be on Dylan and Brenda’s side about not going to college, but they had to be such little bitches that I didn’t even want to root for them

Ray

Like to imagine that Andrea still has to take the bus to her dorm every morning 😂

Ray

Did not expect them to literally Box Sydney

G Goldhar

This is actually my favourite thing on the feed

Growing up my mom would do this, I loved it. Until Skippy or whatever started to sell it mixed and then I acted like the brat I was and insisted my mom's technique was terrible and we needed the store bought version. I just stopped getting either.

TJ Guiney

"Rawlings" would be the Andor of the 90210-verse, the show nobody asked for or wanted but wound up being shockingly good

Andrew Dean

Andrea Zimmerman ordered the lobster?!?!

Barista Bran

Hell yeah Steve! The Alan Wake series is great. Would love to hear the other guys give Alan Wake II a shot
