Hey, gang, we've got a front-loaded schedule this week since us four will be fleeing society for the holiday week here in the States. So let's see what we've got taking us into the long weekend here in the WHMu:

First up, available now, it's the June edition of our Star Trek recap show, The Nexus! This month, we're talking about the TOSTAS episode, "The Practical Joker," where the ship's computer gains partial sentience and starts pranking the crew. And on TNG, we're talking about the hilarious season five episode, "Disaster," where you get to see Captain Picard forced to suffer obnoxious children during a ship-wide emergency! You can get in on all the laughs on here at the $8 tier & up!

Then tomorrow on WHM, we're closing out the first half of the 2026 Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza with a conversation breaking down the hilarious disaster movie, San Andreas! Yes, that's the one where Dwayne Johnson plays a soon-to-be-divorced helicopter rescue pilot and Paul Giamatti plays a seismologist who hides under multiple desks throughout the film! This was a fun one to discuss, and you can hear the convo on here, commercial-free, at the $8 tier & up!

And that'll do it, ya'll! If you're doing any travel or celebrating this weekend, please do so responsibly and safely! Watch Jaws and Independence Day and try to take it easy! We hope you enjoy these shows to take into the holiday weekend. As always, we thank you for continuing to be the most excellent supporters that you are—the best in the business!

Take it easy,

Andrew, Chris, Eric & SteveWe Hate Movies

Happy 4th of July WHM, watching Jaws and hearing your Richard Dreyfuss impressions is gonna be inevitable but so enjoyable. Cheers and stay safe all 🍻

The best week of the month is here! A new month begins, which means: “another Nexus episode” (Picard voice). This week’s TNG episode has it all: a bodiless Data, Troi shitting her pants while commanding the Enterprise, Picard trapped in a turbolift with disgusting shit kids, and Worf helping Keiko give birth! Engage!

That Independence Daymentary is darn near an annual tradition at this point, so it won't shock me to be doing it again in only a few days time.

Welcome back to Earf!

I can promise you that them using that line would've probably made that sequel about 8 to 11 percent less shitty.
