“Somebody pressed the More Stifler button too many times” - Steve

On the penultimate episode of the 2026 Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza, we’re going back for another serving of defiled dessert as we attempt to break down the sex-crazed sequel, American Wedding!

Why couldn’t the script bother to tell us what happened to the missing friends in the cast? And if folks are missing, why not give the MILF Guys some more to do? Would this movie have started stronger if we had a scroll or old man narrator to kick things off? Did Eugene Levy and Fred Willard have to have back surgery after carrying this movie for an hour and a half? And how did Bear get invited to the wedding? PLUS: Another exciting installment of the VHS Trailer Game!

American Wedding stars Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas, January Jones, Molly Cheek, Deborah Rush, Fred Willard, Angela Paton, Eric Allan Kramer, John Cho, Justin Isfeld, Amanda Swiften, Nikki Ziering, and Eugene Levy as Jim’s Dad; directed by Jesse Dylan.

Come hang out in Vegas with us this summer as we do a three-night stand at ST:LV to celebrate 60 years of Star Trek and 10 years of The Nexus! We’ll be at the convention Thursday, Friday and Saturday night doing three Nexus shows on Wrath of Kahn, Generations, and First Contact! Best part is, you don’t need to have a convention pass to attend, each show is ticketed separately. Click through to snag your tix now!

Hoo boy. Enjoyed the first two in my youth more than I care to admit decades later, but this is the one where even back in my 20s I was like 'nah, that's more than enough with this'.

I have never been more disappointed than when my phone was like hey "whm American we" and cut off there and I was like holy shit American Werewolf In London mother fucking Landis chat and then clicked and got this which, to be fair, is FINE

Busiris

Well hey if you turn your podcast app of choice over to episode 570 (WLM feed) then you'll actually get exactly what you hoped for!

There's a chance I last watched this around the time American Reunion came out. But if I didn't, I think the last time I saw this was the one time in 2005 when I got a tattoo with a friend. The tattoo parlor owner had it on and I distinctly remember the pain while watching the pube shaving scene. Yeah, that's what I associate this movie with - stabbing pain.

$55 million American Dollars and they couldn’t afford the Shermantor? This movie had to be a money laundering scheme.

Matt

This thing is abysmal but I do have a fond memory of it if only because I was working at a multiplex at the time and this was a late night staff screening. That was enough to trick me into thinking I enjoyed it for far too long

Re: American Beauty as part of the AP Cinematic Universe - "This is me, having sex with a pie in my family's kitchen. This will be the highlight of my day."

2 hours and 14 minutes on a 96 minute film... ok the first 15-20 minutes was VHS Trailer Game

Phil Dean

Man this is the one I've watched the most because it was the first one I bought myself (on VHS too). I know it's ok to like a movie, but it is NOT ok to bring the film into school to dissect the dog buggery scene for a presentation as to why this film is great comedy. I know I was 14, but it is still not acceptable.

Rose Esposito

I'm so annoyed that "sequel is in the heir" one wasn't Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. I KNOW the first one was 1988! I'm proud of my performance otherwise, however. 💅

Billie Jackson

I was hoping American Gigalo, American Buffalo and American Me would be in there somewhere too.

Billie Jackson

Am now terrified of the concept of Jeffrey Epstein Letterboxd.

Matt

oh this is a mailbag story if I've ever read one!

MarkNM

I had a pun immediately and NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Hard To Gwil

I went to a bachelor party/Primus concert. Needless to say there were no women, let alone strippers.

RJ Cunningham

Every movie is either Rated X or Rated G

Patrick caddy

I forget what movie. But I remember the trailer on this for a DVD and being too young to understand the pubic hair eating thing. Like i was like oh he shaved off screen throws something out the windows and caterers choke. That was in the trailer

Barista Bran

I can't remember if Reunion is as bad a Wedding. The only image I can recall is Stifler on a beach taking a shit in a cooler.

Craig

Did Eric say the platypus was a mistake by God?

Deano Rezzz

In High School, I knew a guy who decided to base his personality around Stiffler specifically after watching this movie. Fuck this movie

I.C. Weiner

After listening to this episode I went back and listened to the episode about the first movie. In it Eric Kevins out and comes up with doing an episode per summer, and the following summer you guys did 2, but that was 3 years ago. Was 2 so bad that even Eric needed an extended break?

Lar

There is one example I know of where a piece of media goes from the original version of a song to a cover and it’s in Heated Rivalry’s club scene when it switches from the original “All the Things She Said” to the Harrison version (appropriately so as it’s now male vocals). Random answer to your rhetorical question, haha.

Gone

I’ll be adding “crotch debris” into my lexicon, and thank you very much.

Edmund Lewis

That is one hell of a triple feature. I like it.

Dennis Stack

I think that this movie falls into the same category as boondock saints where it's fine to like it from ages 12-22 but absolutely not afterwards 😂
