I actually went and hid in my parents bedroom My question for you guys is what’s a story of the earliest irrational fear you had as a kid? As I commented on the last BDD one of the earliest movies I remember that made me go "this movie is terrible but I kinda love it??" was Disturbing Behavior, kicking off my lifelong obsession with so-bad-they're-fun horror movies (especially from the early 2000s). So I ask you: what's the first movie you remember that awoke your love of delicious trashy garbage horror? - Mia from Bollnäs, Sweden

One of my formative experiences was when my cousin, who was supposed to be babysitting me, plopped me down in front of Resident Evil on the PS1 when I was probably 7 years old. I held on ok until the hallway scene where the dogs start jumping in the windows, then I lost it. My question is, do you have any experiences with media that were terrifying in the moment but ended up having a big influence on your taste later in life? Alternatively, did you have a cousin who you could rely on to show you the good stuff (horror wise) when you were probably too young? Frank from Chicago

Hello Gents, Has anything scary or unexplained ever happened to you while watching a horror movie? I have 2 weird experiences. After I saw THE RING in theater I was convinced after 7 days I would be taken by Samara. On night 1 a bunch of movies fell off my shelf in the middle of the night. On night 2 I woke up to use to bathroom and found my sister walking out as I was walking in and with a straight face and unprompted she looked me in the eyes and say “You’re gonna die”. The proceeding nights 3-7 I slept in my older brothers room for protection, mind you I was 13 years old at the time. The other time I was watching The first Conjuring movie alone by myself sitting in the dark. During the movie my cellphone started to ring and it was myself… calling myself. I immediately threw my phone across the room turned every light on in the house. I would love to hear if anything scary has happened to you while watching a horror movie. Matty from Delco PA

Robert Hall

What is your favorite horror-comedy? Thanks, Rob from Long Island

My kid (11) recently started getting interested in horror movies, so we are using the spooky season to run through some classics. I found out her breaking point was the dog ripping horror in The Thing. Adam Howard

When I was in college -- when watching The Exorcist with some friends in my dorm room -- my roommate manages to surreptiously climp under neath his bed without anyone noticing and made it pop up right around tthe time Linda Blair's bed started convulsing. Needless to say, people screamed and literally ran for the door. Have you guys ever been scared by someone or fucked with in this way when watching a horror movie or have you been the pranker? Thanks - Adam in Brooklyn, NY

Was there a scene in a movie you saw as a child that you were way too young for, and the traumatic memory stops you from enjoying the movie as an adult? I saw the original Mad Max on VHS at a friend's house at around seven or eight years old, I was generally uncomfortable with it but especially the scene where Jim Goose's crispy critter hand flops out from under the sheet in the hospital. The bikers running down the wife and kid, and the eyeball pop from the Toecutter both gave me nightmares as well. Curse you, kid with lax parents that showed me that movie! Never watched it since, although I am sure I'd find the movie somewhat quaint and enjoyable now. David Halifax, Nova Scotia

Was it a conscious decision to mention Donkey Lips during almost every Spooktacular season or just an incredible coincidence? Jonathan Massachusetts

Hi Guys and Happy Halloween season 🎃! I think it will engulf the whole of September within our lifetime, and I don't mind at all.
